The Ancient Thinkers
Using a picture I took from Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, I created the image of the ancient Greek historian Herodotus in the foreground. The portrait of the eastern philosopher Laozi is in the background. The figure is based on my memory of a Chinese painting. By juxtaposing images of two influential ancient thinkers from different civilizations, I intend to convey my profound experience of living in New York City, where cultural diversity thrives.
