Former NFL Star, OJ Simpson, succumbed to cancer after a year long battle with the illness. He had announced he had cancer in May 2023, but chose to remain relatively private about the matter. His death has reignited interest in the infamous murder trial case, investigating the deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. OJ Simpson was famously acquitted of all criminal charges, which left many in shock. 

OJ Simpson’s family confirmed his death, urging for privacy on the matter. Many social media influencers have spoken on the matter, some expressing joy on the passing. To quote Caitlyn Jenner, she tweeted, “Good Riddance”. Other people have expressed sympathy for his passing including the persecutor at the trial, Marcia Clark, who offered her condolences.

While his life remains purely controversial, it seems there is much relief stemming from the death of OJ Simpson. His former football team, the Buffalo Bills, did not immediately speak out on the matter, but the fans and observers have reflected on Simpson, the notorious and polarizing figure.
