The Broken Me
After all these years, I have realised that I have the habit of loving the broken and hoping to mend it all over.
I visit the places abandoned years and centuries ago and fall in love with them.
I prefer the musty-smelling old books over the new ones and savour the smell of their torn pages.
I listen to the songs which were once new, but now, old and forgotten. I listen to them over and over again till the pain in my heart forces me to sleep.
But it all ends breaking me.
The abandoned places make me attached to them making me vulnerable to new things.
The small, faded letters of the old books make my eyes hurt.
The old songs bring back memories which were forgotten without ease. I hear them till they pain my ears.
And that's what love did to me too.
I fell for you, your broken heart, and your bruised soul hoping that I'd mend it someday. But you broke me instead. You broke me into pieces which I have lost in you making me irreparable.
Love, sure has its own ways to make everyone realise that it is the greatest heartbreak man has, and can ever find.
