Provo, UT: Brigham Young University is surrounded by the beautiful Wasatch Mountainswith Utah Lake to the west and Mount Timpanogos, but the scenery is not the onlyplus. This school really drew me because it caters to members of The Church ofJesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, so if you attend, you are among the elite andintellectual of the country. You will be challenged, but if you rise to it, youwill obtain a wonderful education that will help you in the working world.

The four aims of a BYU education are to strengthen students spiritually,enlarge students intellectually, build students' character, and to put studentson the path to lifelong education and service. The college ranks high in manyareas of study and its library boasts over three million resources. Since thereis a large number of return missionaries who attend BYU, the college has adiverse atmosphere with exposure to over 50 languages and cultures. All the dormsand the majority of classrooms are wired for Internet use, and the university isranked in the top 50 of Yahoo's "America's Most WiredColleges."

When I visited BYU, I enjoyed the spiritual atmosphere,but don't worry that you won't fit in if you're not a Mormon. You will definitelyfeel welcome and get caught up in the constant stream of funactivities.

Another plus is that it is very affordable. Although I am anout-of-state student, it is less expensive than the in-state school I wasconsidering. I'm looking forward to my education there and I'm sure it will be agreat tool for my future. If you're looking for a party school with lenientrules, this isn't the place for you. But if you're looking for a great educationin a culturally diverse and spiritually rich Christian environment full of good,clean fun, this is the place. Go BYU!
