The name is bullet. Tracer Bullet. I’ve got 2 friends. They like to travel light. One travels in a holster and a hip flask. Grown men, gang members all tremble at me only dumb muggers try to attack me, and they find I have more than 2 friends in my trench coat.

“Wrong turn bullet.” Said one of the 3 tough looking gangers in front of me. They had me cornered and I introduced one of my friends. He made 3 arguments. Now I said” excuse me fellas “and stepped over the bodies and my friend was in his holster Chilin.

I made my way back to the office and checked the answering machine. No one except the old cat lady about a little boy breaking in and stealing pies. Ugh. Nothing good. I started a good smoke when the phone rang.

“Hello?” I said. The voice on the other end said” I need you to look at the factory on 22nd street. I think something is going on there.” It was a feminine voice. So I picked myself up and said “meet me at my office.”

2 hours later the woman sat down and started about how her boyfriend had gone to investigate and had gone missing and had been found in a sewer mauled. It was unknown what had happened, but I decided to investigate.

I arrived at the factory and talked to the chair man.” I really don’t know anything about this mysterious person, but the lady you talked to appears to work here in that part of the facility. But I doubt that you will find anything. “He said. “We will see about that Mr. Chairman,” I said.

I walked around the monotonous factory for a little while, and started to find a trail of blood and some green powder and some pipes. Up until I came upon the north side. Then I was taken aback when I saw a man with a knife in his hand. He turned around and I could see a crazed look in his eyes and he ran towards me. I pulled out my revolver and gave 6 arguments to him and he kept coming. I recognized him from somewhere but couldn’t place him as we struggled for the knife he was holding.

Teeth gritted, I pushed him forward and suddenly I made a sudden shove and accidently shoved in the knife. He stumbled around mouth agape looking around and said “how could you?” And he dropped dead. I breathed heavily and cursed as I realized who it was. It was the famous mayor who had started a wave of people against crime and had given me cases to stop gang deals and things. And he had obviously thought I was the serial murder that they had been chasing for months.

This was a disturbing thought. Killing the mayor of New York was going to attract a lot of attention. He had simply just assumed that the mayor was a murder, and now, he was going to be locked up for good by the FBI. Or worse I thought “I could get the electric chair.” While he was thinking the security for the factory came around and saw him. He looked up only to see him flee calling for backup.

“Crud” he thought and ran for the cover of the woods. He was still running the next morning through what seemed like unending woods and trees with no clearings at all. A long way off he heard barking and realized the police were sending dogs after him. “This could be the end “he thought.

Although all this was going on the chair man was fine. After all he had a personal assassin who had killed the young man and had lead the 2 people, the mayor and the detective to the same place and made it look like one of them was crazy and frame him, but after all it was all about money. 40 pounds of drugs sitting in that factory and it couldn’t be discovered.

Now he knew who the leak was and was going to plug it by killing the woman and framing it on the detective tracer what’s his name. Now, his plan would run at fully speed with all people who would cause a problem out of the picture.

He was finally out of the woods and was in town using the back alleys and other secret ways to cross town. He had to make it to the lady’s house or he would lose all of his proof that he was innocent of the crime if she could confirm that he had been investigating the factory. He assumed someone was trying to get to her before him, but he didn’t know who it was.

He got there and knocked at the door. She came out holding a gun to his head and when she saw who it was she beckoned for him to come inside. “I thought that you killed the mayor, but I wasn’t sure.” She said. Her house was small and drab. It was bare in most respects, and the only decoration was a wilting flower. She had offered him water and some soup and he had accepted it gladly.

“You’re the only person left who knows that I was there, not to kill the mayor, but to investigate”. I said. “Did you even find anything? She asked. “Yes. I found a lot of green powder that looked like something suspicious.” He said. Suddenly the sound of gunfire jolted them out of their seats.

Suddenly all of the firing stopped. Tracer saw that the woman was dead. Holes riddled the house’s front section. “This is ridiculous and I’ve got to make a run for it.” He thought. He burst out of the window on the left side of the house and saw a group of what appeared to be hit men. They still hadn’t noticed him, but he knew that they would realize that he wasn’t dead.

Then, he realized that they had just been there for her, and to kill her. Suddenly they vanished as the high beams on a police car lit up the night. He ran towards the nearest car and broke the window as he slid into the driver’s seat and started to hot wire it. He got it going as they ran up to the car and he shot off at 50 mph towards the nearest freeway.

His car was going like a maniac when it ran out of gas. He jumped out into the brush near to the high way and ran. He found a sewer pipe and climbed in. It was one of the larger ones, so it was a very large opening. He ran through the muck and gunk and heard them searching for him above, and following him through the tunnel.

It seemed like eternity when he saw light and rushing water. He saw an opening and ran towards it only to find that it was a water fall. The police came up behind him and said “there’s nowhere else to run tracer, you might as well give up.” “I’ll never stop, until I can be proved innocent. And he jumped backwards into the waterfall.

He came out of the river 3 miles away. He was battered and bruised. But he was determined to find a way. He didn’t stop for anything, except water. He was in town 2 days after this. He made his way carefully to the factory and through open the doors to find 2 dead bodies and 40 pounds of marijuana sitting there.

“Clap, clap, clap.” He heard behind him and he turned to see the group of hit men and the chairman standing there. “I should have known it was you all along. You did seem really suspicious.” He said. He jumped towards them, and grabbed one of their guns. He had shot all but one of the hit men and he was about to shoot him when he heard the chairman. He had dumped oil on all of the drugs and was about to light it but tracer shot him in the hand so he dropped the lighter.

The last hit man recovered and was about to shoot when all of the cops showed up. They took him down with ease and said you’re coming with us.” The police said. Tracer readied himself, but the police grabbed and cuffed the chairman and explained how they had figured it out among themselves and that he was innocent. From then on he was a lot more suspicious, but he was still Tracer Bullet, private eye.
