Let me Breathe
Gasping for air as i run, trying to go faster. My thighs are killing me, but i can not stop now, i must go on. My heart is beating so fast it feels as if it is going to pop out of my chest, but i just can’t give up, not now. I turn my head to look behind me, he’s gaining on me. I try to move faster, but i think my energy is almost spent. My lungs are begging for air, my knees are about to collapse, but i can’t let him get me, i just can’t. There’s only a few more feet to go, i think i can make it. With what’s left of my energy, i burst through the finish line, the adrenaline begins to wear off. I feel so weak, everyone’s screaming and yelling my name, congratulating me, but it feels like a blur. I feel my legs bend beneath me, i know i hit the ground hard, i tried to open my eyes, but couldn’t, now all i see is darkness.
