“I’ll try to be back as soon as possible,” I said with my head tilted down as a wet teardrop fell down my cheek.
“I believe you,” Zack said with true honesty as his arms were tightly around my short, skinny body.
As I placed myself that stormy Tuesday on the midnight train in Boston, I sighed deeply knowing I’m going to have a hard time being away from Zack for a few weeks. I would never show this to anyone though. I kept my head up strong. The train was to go to Turner City in Wyoming. This has been almost the 10th time I had to leave the state due to my job. When I am working on a mission, I don’t stop until I get it done. Whether it be spying on someone or stealing something back that someone stole from Zeltz, our company. Almost no one knows about it due to my boss wanting everything kept quiet and I still don’t know why. I love mystery and action so I became in love with this job as soon as I was offered it. The only thing is, I can’t be with my boyfriend Zack very often as I’d like, but my dream is to be married to him and have our own little place. For some odd reason, for this mission, I’m very nervous. Rob my boss, told me last Monday that one of our current employees named Austin betrayed us and stole 2.5 million dollars from the company. Rob told my mission was a very difficult and unusual one this time, so I really had to keep focused. The mission was to come to his house, steal the money back, and not get caught. I didn’t get why he said it was unusual and difficult if I already did about same mission before. Without asking any questions, I felt a heartbeat so fast that it was as if it were falling out of my chest. I figured the best thing that would help me at this point, was rest.
“Ma’am? This is you’re stop. Hello? Ma’am?” Max the driver said shaking me back and forth, making my brown curls jump all around.
“Wh-a-at? Oh, it’s already mine?” I said, bringing my hand over my mouth, yawning.
“Yes, ma’am. I’ll help you with your bags.”
“Oh what a gentlemen, why thank you!” I pronounced loudly and shockingly.
It was time to face my mission face to face. Rob had mentioned to me that I would be staying at his good friend’s Heathers’ house. After situating my bags there, I got ready for the journey ahead of me. I didn’t know what to expect and secretly, I was scared. Austin has never set eyes on me before due to different locations of work. I barely found his house with the address written down in ink on the little crumbled paper in my pocket. It has been 4 long, exhausting hours since I got there, until finally, the lights turned out. I waited 20 more minutes just for it to be safe to walk in. Luckily, there was no alarm, and the front door was open. I guess he didn’t want to seem suspicious. Coming through the door, going through room to room, my mind was in different places. I could not find the money. I kept searching and searching, until I stepped back and it was as if the whole world froze. I looked down behind me and there was something I started panicking inside from. The broken pieces of a beautiful expensive- looking blue vase. Next thing I know, there are lights that go on in the kitchen. I hurriedly hide in the closet next to the vase. I had nowhere else to go. What seemed brighter than the sun, the whole house was with it now, brighter with each second. My palms were wet and shaky, so I knew I had to act fast. Suddenly, it was as if an earthquake just hit the earth. Something was vibrating so loud in my pocket. It was a message from Rob.
  I read, “You’re mission includes… killing him.”
I almost dropped the phone. Something had turned inside of me, and I felt sick. While the footsteps were now creaking upstairs, I ran to the kitchen, grabbing the first knife I could find, panting loudly. The footsteps began fast running footsteps now, becoming closer and louder. I held the knife above my shoulder as I faced the enemy.
“Who are you and why are you here!?” Austin yelled.
“I was sent from Rob. Give us the money back!”
He ran at me and screamed, “Never!”
I had a clean shot of stabbing him right as he knocked me to the ground, but all of sudden, the knife was out of my hands, and my mind told me no. This is way too far. I couldn’t do it. As I was processing all of this information, I screeched of pain as my hand touched something wet and red. Austin had stabbed me with the knife that I had dropped. My leg was now in so much pain, I knew this was the end of my life, of all my hopes and dreams that I ever had. Out of nowhere, there was a loud sound of a gunshot and Austin falls on me, blood pouring out of his head, gushing all over me. I tossed him over and saw a man standing at the front door. I immediately recognized him.  Dan was a good friend and employee of Robs’.
“Rob doubted that you would get the job done so he sent me as backup,” Dan said hiding his gun in his jacket and slamming the door behind him.
Tears kept rolling down my face and emotions were rushing through. Dan left and immediately I called Heather to pick me up and drive me to the hospital. At least she was the same old lady I had met just a couple hours ago that actually helped me. At that moment, I didn’t know what to think. I was untrusted by my boss, saw Dan murder Austin, and get stabbed myself. I was soon at the hospital and everything blacked out. As soon as I opened my eyes, I saw Alex, the main leader of the whole company and corporation, stand beside me.
“I’m sorry this happened to you. As soon as I found out what happened I got to the bottom of it, Becky. I stormed into Rob’s office and demanded answers. He told you that part of your mission was to kill Austin, but it really wasn’t. He just had unfinished business with him and wanted to use you. Doubting you’d get the job done, he sent Dan. They are both in jail now. I am offering you a new job similar to this one but the company is called Pourt located in California, and I promise nothing like this would ever happen again. I am going to be checking up on you. You would be able to spend more time to yourself and with Zack, and you’d be living in a small apartment in Coatesville California. This is on me. I know you always wanted a place with Zack, and I’m here offering you just that. Please consider and take my offer. I am again, very sorry this happened to you.”
I just lay there, trying to smile the best I could. The best I felt myself do, was nodding my head up and down. I knew at that point, my life was about to change and I have to think twice before trusting anyone again. Shockingly, the next time I opened my eyes I saw those blue eyes that I missed so much. Zack stood there gazing upon me, with a bouquet of red roses and get-well balloons.
“I know everything. All I have to say is, I love you. We can now spend the rest of our lives together in peace. Will you marry me?”
Again, the best I could do was nod, but my heart was filled with joy and happiness. The kind I never felt before.
