Tick, Tock, Tick...
The clock never stops ticking.
Tick, tock, tick…
It is a monotonous, repetitive sound.
Tick, tock, tick…
Each tick is exactly one second apart, slowly and deliberately marking the passage of time.
There are sixty seconds a minute. Sixty minutes an hour. Twenty-four hours a day. That is eighty-six thousand, four hundred seconds every day.
Eighty-six thousand, four hundred ticks every day.
Tick, tock, tick…
Three more are gone.
Three more seconds gone forever.
If the day had started three seconds ago, there would only be eighty-six thousand, three-hundred ninety-seven left before the next day begins.
Tick, tock, tick…
There are even more gone.
Despite the worldwide need for time to slow, it doesn’t. It keeps on going, never stopping, always continuing at its own pace.
Tick, tock, tick…
There are only eighty-six thousand, three-hundred ninety-one seconds until the next day.
There is not enough time. Will there ever be enough time?
Of course not.
Tick, tock, tick…
Time is separate from the rest of the world. It has no thoughts, no awareness. It is just doing what it does best – it continues on, forever ticking, never ending…
Tick, tock, tick…
Now there are only eighty-six thousand, three-hundred eighty-five seconds left.
There is not enough time! There is never enough time.
But of course the clock continues ticking.
Tick, tock, tick…
Tick, tock, tick…
Tick, tock, tick…
