Lux in Tenebris
In the beginning, before everything was created, there was a woman named Eva and she was pregnant. She gave birth to a baby and named him Gaea. While giving birth Eva lost to much blood. After giving birth she died, but right before that two tears fell down her face and into Gaea. The tears were gifts from Eva to Gaea. One tear was Lucia and the other was Diabolos. Lucia and Diabolos were siblings; however, they were complete opposites. Lucia was like a dove and had a heart of gold. Whereas Diabolos had the eyes of death. Gaea was bare. Lucia created grass, flowers, trees, and plants of all kind. She gave feeling to them. Next, she created animals and insects to live on the land. She said, “Let the birds fly above and the fish swim below”. To all these creatures she gave them the sense of feeling. Soon Gaea was blossoming with life and the air was filled with the sounds of Lucia’s creations. Diabolos was angry that he couldn't make lifelike Lucia, but, instead, brought darkness.
Lucia felt in her heart something was missing: she wanted to share her creations with other talking beings. So, she created humans. She placed them in one big garden to live together in peace and happiness. Lucia told them “Take anything you need from Gaea that will help you live. But, do not take too much, for you may strip her bare, and be left with nothing.” She also told them that they should love each other and care for one another like siblings. If they disobey, they will be sent out of the garden to roam Gaea alone forever. In the same vein, Diabolos tried to create a garden that was so magnificent, it would be deemed perfect in the eyes of God. However, his creation turned into unbearable heat and intolerable nights and barren land. He named it Solitudinem (desert), he invited the people Lucia made so they can worship him, but they rejected his creation because it was inhospitable. This made Diabolos furious.
One day Diabolos decided he had enough of Lucia’s creations and wanted to wreak havoc and chaos among the humans. He started whispering into the human’s ears words of hatred and malice. Delta, a man, said, “Who took my piece of meat?” Ajax, another man, said, “It wasn't me.” Delta said, “I know it was you, curse your soul and all human beings.” Delta then grabbed a stick from the ground and stabbed through the heart. “You have betrayed me!” he cried like a wounded animal. Lucia heard all the commotion down in the garden and went to see what was happening. She came upon Ajax’s body, dead on the ground like a poppet. Lucia asked, “Who committed this grave crime?” Delta said, “Andromeda did it.” However, Andromeda, a woman of the Garden, said “ Delta did it” Then people began lying and accusing others that were innocent because they didn't want to be banished from the garden. They did this because Diabolos instilled negative ideas in their mind and made them accuse each other. Lucia got mad when the people started doing bad, accusing others, and not confessing the truth. Lucia decided to scatter the people but not so far from each other that they would lose human connection. She warned them “The more you lie the more you will be isolated from the people you love”. She gave them fear in their hearts. In order to watch over them, she flew into the sky towards her kingdom. Diablos realized that he couldn’t torment the people since they weren’t all together so he dove deep into the ground to Solitudinem.
