August 2022 Fiction Contest

I died in an accident. I was on a plane to visit my mother when something went wrong with the engine. The plane spiraled, and crashed on land. It quickly burst into flames and my seat belt got jammed. I couldn't make it out of there before the fire swallowed me whole. All I felt was a sharp burning sensation. It was excruciatingly painful, but it was quick. They never found my body. I stood, watching from the side as the medical team pulled out others but they never pulled out mine. There was nothing I could do. I was gone.
