Yes, Cat
Yes, Cat
The cat crept in, tail held high. I looked up from my book and smiled.
“Hi, kitty.”
She regarded me for a minute and jumped up onto my bed, curling up beside me.
I went back to reading my book and stroking her.
“Girl?”
“Yes, cat.”
“Are you feeling okay?”
“No, cat, I’m not. I’m sick.”
“Oh. I’m sorry too.”
“Thank you, cat.”
The room was silent, save for her contented purring.
“Girl?”
“Yes, cat.”
“I’m working on my attack skills.”
“Wow, that’s very good.”
“Would you like to see?”
“Sure, cat.”
She stood up and batted my hand, then attacked it.
“Good job, kitty.”
“Thanks. Girl?”
“Yes, cat.”
“I hope you get better soon.”
“Me too.”
“And Girl?” She said sleepily.
“Yes, cat.”
“I love you.” I smiled down at the cat fast asleep beside me.
“I know cat, I know.”
