After School one day Braden hurried home, Jayde was coming to see him. She had some news to tell him. He had no clue whether it was good or bad. Maybe both? Jayde showed up a little bit later. She wasn’t acting normal. It seemed as if there was something she was trying to hide. Braden began to get very hot and shaky. His face turned bright red. He started biting at his fingernails and rapidly shaking his legs. Braden just couldn’t handle it anymore.”Babe what it going on? Why are you acting so weird lately” Braden asked as Jayde just started stalling and trying to come up with a way to change the subject, she realized that she shouldn’t keep it from him any longer. Finally she just came out and said it…”two words...”

Come on Jayde seriously what is it?” asked Braden

I’m… I’m…

“You’re what?”

I’m pregnant…” answered Jayde. Braden just sat there with a puzzled look on his face. He had no clue what to do or say. He sat there in shock and buried his face in his pillow. Jayde had tears flowing down her face. Black makeup was smeared all over face. It stayed very quiet for a while. Then after a bit they just sat there discussing how they were going to tell their parents. This was the hardest thing they were going to have to do. After the news Braden didn’t even want Jayde to leave. They laid there together think and talking about what they were going to do, and how they were going to tell their parents. They both decided it was about time that they told their parents. They agreed that they should wait until tomorrow.

Unfortunately it was time for Jayde to head home. As she was getting ready to leave Braden grabbed her and hugged her tight for about five minutes. Finally she said,”I’m really sorry but I have to go home”.

Braden Said, “Ok well I love you and be careful”.

I love you too and always am.” Jayde said. Braden just smiled. As Jayde was headed out the door Braden stopped her once again. She looks back at him. Braden Said, “This wills all be ok, we will be great parents and we will give everything that the baby needs. Jayde just smiled and went out the door. Right after Jayde left Braden just couldn’t believe that happened. He slowly walked back to his room. He sat there and all of a sudden it hit him. He was only 18 and is going to be a father. Soon after that he started crying. Tears covered his face and pillow. Even though Braden knew he financially stable enough to take care of the baby and Jayde he was still very worried. His parents had gotten home a little later and they could tell he was acting a little weird. They kept asking him what was wrong but he just shrugged and said,”NOTHING”. Braden’s parents just figured him and Jayde were in an argument so they just didn’t worry about it.

The nest day he woke up and he got ready for school like any other normal day. He got to school and met up with Jayde. They hugged and kiss right as soon as they saw each other knowing that today was the day they had to tell their parents and from that point on everything was going to seem so different. They were hoping this day wouldn’t go by too fast. All throughout the day the two of them would just stare at the clock and worry about how it was getting closer and closer to the end of the day and they were going to have to break the news to their parents. Usually they could hardly wait for that last bell to ring but right now they could wait a million years it seemed. They were so nervous school was finally out and it was time for them to spill the news. They met up in the parking lot and decided to go to Jayde’s house first. They got to Jayde’s house and they sat in the car for a bit. Jayde looked over at Braden and said, “Are you ready to do this?” Braden sighed and said, “Yeah I guess I’m as ready as I’ll get.” They slowly got out of the car and were headed towards the door. Braden grabbed hold of Jayde’s hand and gently kissed it and smiled. He knew in his heart that they could do this no matter what it took. They went inside and sat down in the living room. They asked Jayde’s parents to come in there because they needed to talk to them. They were really weird out because usually Braden and Jayde would hangout somewhere else. They just sat there. Her parents waited and waited. Finally Jayde’s dad spoke up and said, “Well what is it you need to tell us?” Jayde looked at him her and mom and Braden. She knew she had to do it but she just couldn’t think of a good way to begin. It was hard enough when she has to tell Braden. She was afraid this was going to be even worse. This may have not been the best way she could come up with but finally she just said, “Well Mom… Dad… ummm you’re going to be grandparents.” They both just sat there in shock. Their jaws hung down and they were completely speechless. They were very upset but they realized that it wasn’t going to help to be mad and punish them. It was already too late for that. They had always wanted to have grandkids but they never thought it was happen this early in life. They weren’t the type to have nothing to do with their kids if something like this happened. All they could think to say was that they would still be here for them through it all and they would help them out if they needed anything.

Now it came to the time of telling Braden’s parents. Braden figured that Jayde’s parents would have had a way worse reaction then they ended up having. Now it was time they weren’t as nervous as they were before because the last wasn’t too bad. They got to Braden’s house and did pretty much the same thing. His parents had the same kind of reaction. They had faith that they would be great parents. Although they never wanted this for their kids they knew they would do great at being parents even though they are kind of young. After that Braden and Jayde were so relieved that their parents were not completely mad at them.

As weeks went by they began to get excited about the baby. They went to the doctors to find out the sex of the little thing and they found out it was going to be a little girl. By this time school was out and they had graduated. Even though they didn’t plan on this is kind of worked out cause they were out of school and they had the whole summer to get prepared for the coming of their little baby girl. After the summer went on Jayde and Braden started getting into fights and arguing a lot and were not getting along. Braden tried and tried to fix it but it just wasn’t working. It ended in a big mess I was getting so bad that Jayde just wanted to be done. She never wanted this for her kid but she just couldn’t put up with it any more. Barden love her so much and she loved him but right now she just could take it so they broke up. They sill talked pretty much every day. But then it started being like every two days. Braden always had to be the one to text her also. Soon it got to where they would talk maybe once a week. He thought that maybe they would work it out but he hadn’t heard from her in awhile. He just didn’t know what was going on. Braden had text her and called a thousand times and she just wouldn’t answer. Finally he got a hold of her and asked her if they could talk. Jayde agreed to talk to him. They decided they would just meat up at the park. Braden walked up to the park and waited for her. She finally showed up there. She wasn’t herself at all. He knew it probably wasn’t going to end up very well but he figured it wouldn’t hurt to try and talk to her. It was very awkward and silent. Neither of them knew what to say. Braden just had to break the silence he asked her why she was acting so weird. She just didn’t want to have much of a conversation. So she acted like she had no clue what he was talking about Braden asked, “why haven’t you talked to me in a while?’ Jayde just stayed quiet and didn’t say a word. Finally Braden just got up and left it wasn’t worth his time if she just wasn’t going to try and talk. He just wondered why she would waste her time and come up to the park if she just planned on not speaking.

Jayde was due in about two weeks and things were not looking good at all. He just kept all of these thoughts of why she is doing this and if he is even going to get to see his own child. Braden didn’t really think she would actually go that far. A couple days later she called her and she told him it was about time for the baby to come. Braden asked he was going to be able to be there and she said, “Of course you can you are her father.”

“Ok thank you so much!!!” Braden said. A few days later Jayde called and told him it was time. “She is coming!!” Jayde Said. Braden was so excited to finally get to see his little girl. They headed to the hospital. They get to the hospital and Jayde is waiting to be able to start pushing. In the delivery room Braden was just waiting for the big moment to come. He was officially going to be a father. Braden stood there right next to Jayde Arms crossed and paising back and forth from the door to the bed. He started to get shaky and began to have random hot flashes. He felt dizzy it was all hitting him. He really is going to be a father. He quickly sat down. The feeling of dizziness made him almost sick. Jayde was still waiting to begin pushing. Her contractions were getting worse and worse tears were rolling down her face. Braden decided he would just stay sitting on the couch. Jayde also decided she really wanted her mom to be in the delivery room with her and stand by her side. They called her mom in. Her mom began to get more and more excited as time went. She was smiling a huge bright smile the whole time. She was going to be a grandma!!!!! Jayde’s mom looked at them both with and excited look. She said, “Are you guys ready for this cause I sure am!” all they could say was yes!! The doctor walked in to see how Jayde was doing. Doctor Bailey said, “Well its time.” From that point on Braden and Jayde’s mom were so excited. Jayde just absolutely could not wait at all. Jayde began pushing. No one had ever heard her scream like that in her life. All of a sudden Jayde’s phone went off. It happened to be sitting on the table next to the couch where Braden was sitting and he happened to look over at it. It was a new text message. The name was Colton H. :). He knew she had no relatives with that name and none of their friends were named Colton. He realized that maybe this was the reason that everything between them had went downhill. He stared with a blank face at the phone and walked over to the other side of the room. After a few minutes he heard a long loud cry. Instantly all his thoughts were erased from his mind besides his baby girl. He walked over to Jayde and had a huge smile. “You did it!” she looked up with her bright red face and tears rolling down but lightened it up with a smile.

For awhile they were discussing what to name her. They decided to go with Karley Brooke McCormick. She looked just like her dad. Thick brown hair, beautiful sea blue eyes and her nose was a cute little ball. She even had the same little right on the tip of her nose. Braden was still smiling from ear to ear. Just trying as hard as possible not to think about that stupid text message. Braden finally got to hold Karley. It was a different feeling than he had ever had before. Chills went down his body he just wanted to squeeze her and never let go she was the most precious baby ever. He realized how good it felt to have a child to love and cherish unconditionally. He stayed at the hospital that night with Jayde and Karley. When morning came they were released to go home. Once they got to the house. People started coming over to visit and see the baby. Braden still never knew who this Colton character could have been. He tried to not let the message ruin his day because today was the best day of his life.

After a couple of days went by Braden decided to ask Jayde about the text message. She didn’t say anything to him the he asked if she was seeing someone else. Jayde said, “Kind of.”

“What do you mean kind of? You either are or you’re not!”

“Ok well we aren’t dating but we’ve been talking.” Braden just quit talking to her. And later he just couldn’t help but worry about that. He asked who the guy was. Jayde said, “Oh he is just an old friend of mine.” She acted like Braden wasn’t supposed to be upset about it at all. Braden found out that this kids name was Colton Housman and he was from right there in town. He always wondered if this was the reason Jayde had been acting odd but he never thought she was like that. Even though they weren’t dating he was still very bothered by it because he still truly loved her.

One day Braden went up to the park to play basket ball with the boys. He hadn’t seen Jayde or Karley for about a week so he asked them to come up to the park. They came but Jayde brought Colton along. Braden didn’t think that was her best idea. He was furious. His face was beat red and he had nothing to say. Jayde walked over to the park bathroom and took Karley with her. She left Colton and Braden there together. Braden said, “Seriously dude stay away from Jayde and my daughter.” They got in a huge fight and many punches were thrown and Colton was left on the ground. Jayde walked out of the bathroom and instantly started yelling at Braden about he had no right to do that cause they weren’t even together but Braden had no care in the world he just wanted Karley and Jayde to himself. Jayde said to him, “this is it I am done with you if you are going to be like that.”

“I am so sorry but this was supposed to be us I just want you back Jayde!” Braden said.

“Braden it is too late for that it wasn’t working out and especially after this it is definitely not going to work.”

“Please Jayde just give me a chance you know how much I still love you and I would do anything to still be with you.”

“Braden it really just isn’t going to work that way.” As Jayde walked away she said, “I hope you enjoyed seeing me and Karley because you will be lucky to see us again.”

“You can’t do that!!” Braden said

“Watch me!” Braden just didn’t even know what to do. He tried to talk to her but she was completely done. Soon after that Braden got a letter in the mail. Jayde was taking him to court and was going to fight for all rights of her daughter so she didn’t have to put up with Braden anymore. The court date was set for that next week, but then got pushed back another week. The day of court was here and Braden was so nervous about the whole thing. He never thought he was going to have to go through this. Jayde was very confident that she was going to win this with no problems. This fight really didn’t end how Jayde really planned. There was nothing that Braden had ever done for her to be able to completely keep him from seeing Karley so therefore Jayde had to let Braden see her. Jayde wasn’t too happy about this but she was just going to have to deal with it. Jayde had Karley all throughout the week and Braden had her every weekend. They decided it was probably the best for her anyways. Jayde never wanted Karley to have to lose her dad but at the time she was so frustrated. Braden was happy that he still got to see Karley but he wished that thing would have worked out between him and Jayde like the rest of the fairytales.
