Hero in the Night
It reaches out to envelope you in the darkness that it was solely made of. Tentacles of sorrows and doubt wrap around and tickle every emotion within your soul. Its purpose is no less than to beguile and mock but no more than to perceptibly harm for the entertainment of itself and of others. Nothing brings more pain, animosity, and vexation than the invisible monster lurking no further than within us and around. Its eyes full of bright green pigments centered with a completely black pearl and its body covered in charcoal silk which trailed long behind its large build.
Most days, the fight to escape its vicious claws is futile. No amount of tears or silent screams are able to relieve you of the monster’s villainous grip until the day that the savior comes. Whether salvation arrives in the form of a person, object, or enlightened idea, it is sure to aid in the defiance against the malevolent devil. The guardian does not fight with the wicked violence that the other does, but rather it duels using its dedication to prosperity, security, and belief. This time as the slithery arms stretch out to suffocate, the defender comes to battle the creature; cutting off each limb until it no longer can touch you, then finally shedding light on the twilight obscurity.
Now this was it; the last leg of the race; the light at the end of the tunnel. All because of this one hero bringing liberation, it was possible to find utopia in the trifling depths of the shallow world.
