The accedent off shore
A accadent off shore
The story takes place in a costal town of Maine called Jonesport. We left the port at 4:30 AM aboard a 60 foot lobster boat named Grampies boy. We was headed out to haul about 16 miles off shore. The fog was thicker then pea soup. There was seven to nine foot seas. We was going pretty good about seven pounds to a trap.
We hear a huge air horn coming at us. So we look around and we see nothing. So we kept hauling Then all of a sudden a huge barge runs right in to us and brakes the boat in half and it keeps going. The boats in pieces and we are over board.
We was strugaling to stay afloat. The swells kept swamping over us and pushing us under. Making it hard to breath. You could feel the harrin swimming by your feet. It was scary because we didn’t know what it was.
