Prank
Kevin was in class, listening to his teacher drone on about the multitudinous amounts of complementary colors in art, when all the lights suddenly flickered off. A murmur began amount the students, all of whom seamed frightened, but not Kevin. He knew something like this could have happened. His friend Jamie had told him so.
Jamie was notorious for getting into trouble. She held believed that causing mischief was better than actually doing the right thing. She would always make obscene remarks about other people and behaved in an abominable manner.
When Jamie and Kevin were both in the sixth grade, Jamie nearly got expelled from school because of the trouble she caused. Jamie had filled the principal's car with a gooey purple substance that smelled distinctly like sulfur. However, Jamie never got caught. The principal did speculate that she had something to do with the incident, but enough evidence was never found to make any accusations.
This always filled Kevin with indignation. He believed that Jamie should have been punished for her actions. Kevin's friendship with Jamie has been diminishing for this very reason.
A few days prior, Kevin had given Jamie an ultimatum, she had to assimilate to a just behavior or he would stop being her friend. At first she didn't concur, holding steadfast to her beliefs, but soon she agreed to his resolution.
Seeing that the lights still remained off, Kevin guessed that he had lost a friend.
