Basic Guide to Speaking Group Project
Understanding the language of group projects in today’s fast-moving world is essential to success in school, work, and life. Millions of stressed people in the US speak it, and by studying a few phrases daily for about four years, you can join them! Being surrounded by a new language can be difficult at first, but these basics will help you start interacting with your group members.
“Can I work with you?”
Translation: We barely know each other, so it’s okay if playing on my phone instead of working pisses you off.
“I’m super busy right now, so.”
Translation: I have, like, a test next week.
“Let’s divide this up.”
Translation: If I don’t do my part because my parents took my phone, my computer, and the local library away, you’ll know exactly what you have to do.
“Who wants to do this part?”
Translation: I would rather eat an eraser than do it myself.
“Yeah go for it!”
Translation: Please, please forget everything you just proposed.
“Let’s work on this on Sunday.”
Translation: Let’s go to the richest person’s house, order pizza, and come up with the next meeting’s date.
“Is this good?”
Translation: Say it to my face. I dare you.
“Eh…”
Translation: Eh…….
“WHERE IS YOUR STUFF IT’S DUE TODAY.”
Translation: *$%# #%$^@*^ #@%!
