set the scene
A boy. Alone in his room, curled up under a blanket lying on the carpet. Crying silent tears, body shaking violently. The radio plays softly in the background. Music he has never heard of. But she liked it.
His tears of not of relief. Nor sorrow. They are of raw pain, burning his cheeks as they slide down his face. He cannot think. If he does it is only of her.
Her perfect smile. Her shining eyes, their luster gone toward the end. Her quirky, brilliant mind. All of it gone.
She had dreams. Big dreams. Colleges and studying abroad and acting. All of vanished so quickly.
He cannot stop crying. And all around him, hundreds of people, more than she would ever know, are crying with him. And at that moment, the color from his world begins to fade into gray and black, just as it did for her.
