Eli gets home, finally. She places her satchel down and goes up to her room.
“How’s Maggie?” Jenn asks, Eli hated when this was brought up, but she needed the help and Jenn cared.
“She tried to talk to me on Snapchat,” says Eli now criss crossing her legs to get more comfortable, she knew this wouldn't take long, Jenn will just say the same thing over again like she does whenever this comes up.
“I am trying to help you Eli, I don't want you going through this over and over, you need to be happy”
“ I'm just over it.”
“Give me your phone” Eli was supposed to block Maggie but Eli couldn’t bring herself to it.
“ I miss her and I'm tired of the lies on Instagram, but I don't want her to leave, “She is my best friend,” Eli covers her mouth so she can show it was a mistake saying it.
“You don't need her, all she did was make you weak, tired, a wreck, look at yourself Eli, look what she has done to you! She is the problem here not you and she is trying to get attention.”
“ I don't want her to leave.”
“She isn't going to leave first , because you are, you're better than this Eli, she “WAS” you best friend and best friends don't do that, you need and deserve to be happy, I have given you a speech before Eli, I love you.” They sit in silence together.
“I love you too, thank you,” Eli murmurs. She knows Jenn is trying to help and she is strong and she doesn’t care about anything else when it came to Eli.
“Want to go get pizza?” Jenn asks breaking the silence.
“I thought you would never ask.”
