The Secret

Have you ever had to keep a secret from you friends about your best friend? Well this is what I had to do. My best friend Emma had told me her biggest secret. No one had knew about it, not anyone at all. Her other friends had no clue. I promised her I wouldn't tell anyone, but this promise had to be broken because of what she did. Luckily, I haven't forgotten about this little secret of hers.

She had done something to me that made me angry. What she had done to me had made me very disappointed, but she and I were still friends. She told my parents that I snuck out, so I of of course got grounded. My parents weren't very upset, they just said I should have asked. Yet, I said they would have said no because it was late, so I just left. I was very upset that she had told them, but she just did it because she thought it was funny.

Since she did this, I needed to tell everyone her big secret that she got pregnant. To tell everyone, I was not going to go around telling people, because then she would get told that I was going around telling people. I was going to anonymously text everyone and tell them she got pregnant.  She wouldn't find out, even though she had only told me this secret, and she trusts that I wouldn't tell anyone.

Once the message was sent, I knew that she would be talking about it all day, and it would be hard to keep my mouth shut. Even if it was hard to keep my mouth shut, I would make myself capable of it. If she found out that I told everyone, she would never forgive me.

I knew that this wasn't going to be the right thing, but it needed to be done. My plan was to send the message over the weekend probably on a late Sunday. So that everyone would know about it and it would still be talked about.

“Emma’s taking over the story now”.

This was the worst day of my life, first I just didn't want to get up but my mom said “we had to go praise the lord whether we liked it or not.” Yet at this moment I already had sinned I got pregnant without being married to the boy.

Know one had known that I was pregnant till about three o’clock on sunday evening. I don't know how it got out but everyone knew, someone anonymously texted the whole school. I had only told one person and that was my best friend. I had thought that she wouldn't tell anyone but maybe she was mad at me, for what I did.  I didn't think it was that big of a deal, I told her parents that she snuck out because I thought it was funny.

I don't think that she got in much trouble for it, maybe grounded for a week at the most. I don't even think that she got her phone taken away for a day. She was also allowed to go places because I had she was at the mall then on sunday I have no clue where she was, and that was the day when the message was sent.

Now everyone knows my secret, and my whole world is slowly corrupting. My parents are going to find out and are going to have no clue what to do with me. They might say that I have to keep the kid because it’s my responsibility. I didn't want people to find out because if other people knew my parents would find out. I didn’t want my parents to have a choice because it my choice to make.

“I'm giving the story back”

Emma knows now, well everyone does. No one knows who sent the message if it was a joke or not. While walking through the halls on Monday morning, I heard little bits of people’s conversations about it. Such as “ It’s probably true, I did knowdess that she has put on a few pounds. “ Dude I wouldn't be surprised.”

All thought the day I got asked the same questions a million times.  Did you know, did she tell you? Every time I just told them I had no clue about it.

When it came to lunch time Emma was waiting at the table with her lunch. She wasn’t crying but she looked very upset, not in me or anyone just the fact that everyone knew. She didn’t know that it was me and I don’t think she would ever know.

I successfully did it without her knowing. Yes I did fell a little guilty about it. It was the right thing to do though her parents needed to know. It was the best thing to do, even if it meant she would get yelled at.

“ I’m going to let Emma tell the rest of the story.”

My parents ended up telling me to give the kid up. I agreed with the idea, I thought I wasn’t very responsible yet and I still had to finish school. I still had no clue who told everyone, but somehow everyone knew. I know that my best friend wouldn't tell anyone, she was also acting normal. I got a lot of people asking me questions, many sad days but I was strong and everyone forgot about it eventually.
