Room 34
Her eyes opened. Another day, another dollar - or two if I’m lucky, she thought. Her phone vibrated again on her nightstand, which must have woken up her initially. It was a text. She had work. She got up and dressed and did her make-up, she tried hard to remain pretty on the outside, even if she was broken on the inside. She got into her car and went to the address in her text.
They were waiting for her, the man she hated but needed, and the man who was about to break her again. She had no choice. She had no job experience, as this wasn’t a job, no; this was something else, something horrible. The man smiled the same evil smile all men smile when they she her. She hated them. But she had to. They went upstairs to the grimy motel room. Room 34. Same old, same old, and he got on the bed. She wondered if she was doomed to this ‘life’ forever, and wondered if she could ever get out. She didn’t know.
