Surprise, Surprise !
It was an intensely sunny July day. The sky was a crystal blue with yummy marshmallow clouds floating swiftly across the evening sky. The smell of fresh cut grass filled the air. She began to walk and see the lonely park. There in Orlando, most of the time the parks were filled. Then , suddenly in the quietness, she heard loud and fast footsteps. At that point, there was a loud noise and she dropped to her knees. Her name was Maloney Star, and she was struggling to stay alive.
It all started early that year in 1996. There was a slight breeze outside. Malone was a middle teenager, at the age of sixteen. Her parents were gone ... She did not to school even at her age; honestly she had no education. When her parents "left" she had gotten herself into horrible thing. Drugs, alcohol. Then her crime spree began. First, it was robbing people, then she was threatening the innocent.
Maloney was sitting at home. The police had came knocking at her door, harder and harder. She was getting ready to meet her friend from around the corner. His name was Jamie, but everyone called him " The Hulk " because he smashed the head of any enemy.
" Aye, Malone, get over here young. " Said " The Hulk ".
"Yo, I Have To Tell You Something Very Important ! "
Fear came upon Jamie's eyes. He had no idea what to expect of Maloney. He started to wonder what unfathomable things she was about to speak out of her lips.
" Who did you kill ? "
" Nobody .. I .. "
" You stole ? Assaulted? " The Hulk interrupted abruptly.
Eagar to find out what was going on, he shook Malone until she nervously spoke. Malone began to feel very light - headed. Malone took a big sigh and spoke the truth.
" I am .. Carrying a child ... "
" What ? Don't lie to me .. "
Malone looked down with disappointment and frustration. Tear came down her hazel brown eyes.
" Wow, I never even thought of this happening to you ! "
" Why , you don't think I could be a good mother ?"
Malone thought it was not a good idea to keep this tender child. Just the thought of raising this child was hard to think of. Even , though maybe it was what she wanted. She stormed off wondering the good things and bad things that could come to raising this child.
Honestly, she didn't even know who the father was. She had to think of who he had slept with in the past couple of months. Besides the ... The rape .. Maybe it was the horrible man , who did this horrible crime ? She didn't like to admit it to a lot of people what had went on that terrible night. She thought back.
Back to when she was cruelly violated. Its was a dark and stormy Friday night. The night was young and barley over and the clock had just struck eight o'clock. The wind was going hard , and the sudden sounds of an owl startled all who had heard it. Lightening struck and the thunder bashed the night sky. Maloney had been walking down the lonely street by herself. Nothing moving , except for the bushes dancing in the wind. The sweet smell of rain filled the nostrils of Malone. She got home , safe and sound. The fire was burning bright and hot in the fire place. Her parents were no where to be found. Where could they be she thought. Then, she heard a sudden scream that carried on for about a minute before Malone actually decided to see what was going on. She walked up the creaky stair , afraid of what she was about to witness. She finally got to the very tip of the stairs and before turning the corner , she heard he name in a soft whisper.
" Malone! " The voice said, she was scared to the point where she screamed. She turned and what she saw will haunt her forever. She saw her mom bleeding in agony.
" Help . Please oh please he-." Her mother was interrupted, before she took her last breath.
The man , who had done this , had been the man who had been there for her . The man who had raised her , her entire life. She could not believe what was going on. Standing there with her Mother's blood on him . Sweat pouring down his face. A giant butcher knife in his hand , and a big red mess on the floor of the master bedroom. Nobody other than her father, standing there. She came to realize her father, her flesh and blood, is the brutal murderer of her beloved mother. At that point, it had came to her mind that she would probably be his next victim. She backed up slowly, then began to run. Her father dropped her mother and began to charge after her. She had no idea what had come over her once well father. The horror in his eyes shocked her and made her want to brake down. Malone had then tripped down the stair, knocking her unconscious. She woke up to a horrible and trembling scene. She actually woke up to her dad, raping her . The sight was unbearable and he could not stand but crying. Malone feared for her life, so she continued to do what she was being told by her father. She felt as though her life would be over by the end of that night. She didn't struggle. She had to deal with the fact that he was now in control of her actions. After , about twenty minutes or so , her dad tied her to the bed and left. I’m sure he was leaving her to die, not thinking about anyone entering her house at anytime soon.
Surprise, surprise. Her dad called the police to report the incident. When the police came to investigate, they found Malone stripped down and tied to the backboard of her bed. They entered the master bedroom and found Malone’s mother slaughtered and hung by nails on the wall. The only person in the family they didn't find was the father. That made the police think. She wanted to forget.
Malone sat there, thinking about this child. She decided she wanted to get her life back on track. All this violence and drug habits would not be good for the child to be around. She looked up colleges for the less fortunate, since she was hardly getting by, she thought about maybe entering a Community College. She found a couple close by so she would close to home, and she started hitting the books. Malone read every single book, cover to back. It took months to read them all.
Finally, the day of her first class came. Here came a windy August day. Just about 80 degrees outside, and bushy clouds covered half of the sun. Malone was in a whole load of traffic and it took plenty if time to get to her class. She got there just in time to get a seat in the far back, considering she shy when it comes to meeting new people. The professor had just walked into the room and started to introduce himself. Then, he began to start attendance. He called everybody’s name out until everybody was accounted for.
“ I am Mr. Clark, your professor and you guys are not qualified to be in ACTUAL collage so you are in this class. “
Mr. Clark seemed like a real rude guy. She just let it go. Malone was already 1 month pregnant with her child. She couldn’t focus because she kept on thinking of the future. What could happen to this child? Will it be all right during birth? She kept thinking and thinking about this kid, and it was the only thing that crossed her her mind.
It had been 5 months since her first class and she believed she was ready to be a good mother. The problem was that she had no job, and was going to be evicted of her home. The place she knew wasn’t right to raise her child. She earlier found out she was having a boy due on May 15 and these living conditions were horrible.
She searched the newspapers for internships or full time jobs. She got an internship at the Miami Post Office as a letter sorter. She got paid about 10.50 and hour. She even worked a lot late night so she could make a couple more bucks, even though the post office was closed. Then, on weekends, she delivered some of the mail she had sorted the previous Friday night. For now, she was making enough money to start looking for apartments. Mini, one bedroom and one-bathroom apartments. In the nest three months she was just about ready to move in.
When she moved in the apartment was not as bad as she expected. She made it her own and she was actually settling her brand new place. Plus, her baby was to arrive next month and she was sure she was ready. She stocked up on things she had been able to buy because of the left over money from her job. She bought a year supply of baby food, a green & blue stroller, and a yellow crib. That’s all she had the money for. Then, the door rang..
It was the police, with some interesting news. After so many years, Malone’s prayers had been answered. She prayed to God every single night of her life that her father would never come back and he would officially be caught and locked up for his horrible ways. They came knocking awful hard. They announced her father had been caught! She cried in glee, so glad her father could not come back to haunt them. Well, not in person.. He was sentenced to death. Malone was truly devastated but then she thought of all her dad had done.
One month pasted and Mika Star was born. He was 6 pounds and 3 ounces. His beautiful hazel eyes made everyone happy. Malone turned out to be the best mother possible. She got to whiteness her fathers death through choice. From then on, she went back to school and came to be a Criminal Investigator.
