The Wish
It all began 10 years ago when as a small child I threw a quarter into a wishing well and made this wish. I wished for a horse I could call mine.
I would lie in bed at night dreaming of the day that my one and only wish would come true. I would dream of my horse. I could picture the golden color of her coat, and her long flowing mane and tail of white. I would dream of the time I spent with her brushing her and just having someone to talk to when my day was not good. I would dream of riding through the field and feeling the breeze in my hair. We would drown out the rest of the world and become in tune with nature. She loved me as much as I loved her. I would continue to have this dream nearly every night and sometimes I would even daydream. I would lie in bed thinking of name for her. I would try to come up with a majestic and unique name for her. I would call her Night Rider.
Then one day, 10 years later, I came home from school to have the horse of my dream standing in an open field by my house just waiting for me. I fell in love with her immediately as we bonded. I couldn’t wait to ride her but that day would have to wait because she was only a baby. My father told me he saw her in a field and knew that she was the horse I had been dreaming of for all these years.
