I wake up on October the Twentieth thinking this will decide my life. I wake up at 7:00 A.M. already packed but not sure what is coming. After getting done showering and getting all of my bags into my Esclade, as my person I’m taking drives up and parks his car in my driveway. Mr. Friederich. He is taking me because one I know it will be a fun time. And two he has had the biggest affect choosing my College. As he gets his suitcase into my car we start to drive off. I go outside and help him get his bags and it’s a chilly sixty degrees (Comparing Regions), and so we decide to hurry and get in the car. After my mom got us two blue Gatorades we left. My parents waved goodbye on our adventure. As we head out to get my water samples from east and west Lake Okoboji. As we stop at the Barefoot Bar to pick up a sample of water, it looks like a deserted island as there is no one there. When we get to the water the water looks flat as if no one has been on it for more than a year. We walk back to get in the car and head to Arnold's Park. We start drive over the bridge and we glance out to East Lake where you see no one there, and then we glance over to West Lake where we see five fishing boats sitting calm in the lake. When we get past Oak Hill Marina we see the big roller coaster and the park looks like its been deserted. We start to walk out to the beach on Arnold’s Park as we get the water. We head back up as we turn on the car we see a little thing on the windshield blowing around. As Mr. Friederich goes to see what it is we see its a parking ticket! Mr. Friederich was shocked that at this time of the day there was cops. It was only a $5 ticket. I got in the car. So Mr. Friederich turned on the car.(IC.IC.) The car started up; then we drove off. (IC; IC)

We headed off to go to go two and a half hours into the trip we stopped at a Kum & Go in Waterloo, Iowa. We saw a few familiar faces such as Mrs. Toews. She said she was on her way to visit someone I don’t know I wasn’t paying attention. As were driving on Interstate 380 we pass through Cedar Rapids. At first we think it’s just a normal city. But as we keep on driving and it starts to smell really bad. We keep driving as we notice the Quaker Oats plant. We both immediately knew where the smell came from. (Human Environmental Interaction)We finally get away from the horrid stench as soon we got to Iowa City. We could already smell the tailgating from fans. The juicy burgers that were awaiting us needed to wait. (Smell) As we reached Iowa City it felt like we hadn’t gotten out of Spirit Lake as it was a mild sixty degrees.(Comparing Regions) We were quite jealous but we knew we had to focus on my future. We headed straight for the admissions building as we got there their was a woman that worked there named Kim. She was a middle aged woman but she was nicer than anyone I have ever met before. She took care of every need. I first asked about how much college would cost for four years not including any extra years. She calculated it up within two minutes. I also asked how far away the business school was from here she told me “0.4 miles so you might want to walk and might want to drive but if you really want to you can walk.” So as the smart people me and friederich are we deciding to walk! So when we arrive to the Henry B. Tippie college of business. It looks like most houses in California; it was so big and beautiful. (Sight) We go inside and and meet the professor and he was a bit in a hurry considering it was Iowa gameday! He let us know everything possible, like how much time classes would take during the day. How many years it would take, etc.. He sounded like a great professor. I then couldn’t wait til my next stop in Georgetown. Georgetown is a very prestigious school. After me and Friederich toured the campus it was time for the Football game. We went to attend the Iowa vs. Penn State game, and I cheered for the Hawkeyes. (IC, CC IC.) When we go to the Iowa game, we will cheer for Iowa. (DC, IC)It was very hard to find a parking spot we got out and walked to press box side gate we couldn’t wait to get in. Each ticket costed $277 but it was worth it for really good seats. As we walked into the stadium, we could already smell the greatness of the foods. So instead of heading to our seats we went straight to the concession stands. First stop we made we got 2 pops with the stadium edition cup, with 2 pizzas his was sausage and mine was cheese. The cost all together was $19! Then we sat down with 45 minutes until game time.

10 minutes until game time as Back In Black started to play as the student section was roaring. If I was on the field at that moment I bet the ground was vibrating like touching a phone while it is vibrating. (Touch) The Croud was going crazy, so, My eardrums were ringing. (Sound and I, IM, C) Kickoff! Iowa was kicking off and the special teams sprinted down the field. The student section was full and we knew this was going to be a great game. The guy right behind us we could tell was a screamer. All he did was complain on how bad they were until they made a great play, then he thought they were All-Americans. By the end of the first quarter we were up 21 to 14. The student section was pumped up the started chanting Weisman for Heisman. We knew then the momentum was on our side. With the ball on the 32 yard line Mark Weisman had a 32 yard touchdown run. The crowd erupted! We were up 28 to 14. At halftime we were still hungry so we decided to get the same thing. We were definitely surprised by how much stadium prices are. So we really thought we should stop eating until after the game. As we reached back to our seats the band was playing the Iowa fight song while everybody clapped in beat to the song. Then the band left the field and we started to hear Back In Black and the crowd erupted again as everyone in the student section was jumping up and down. To start the second half Penn State kicked off. Greg Garmon and Keenan Davis were back to return. Penn States kicker kicked it deep into Iowa’s end zone but Greg Garmon decided to take it out from deep in their end zone. He broke one tackle just after he got a great block from his other deep man Keenan Davis. Then there was a huge hole, it just seemed like he hit that hole harder than a bomb hitting the ground. He broke free and zoomed fifty yards into the end zone! The longest Kickoff Return in history one-hundred and eight yards! As Greg Garmon went to the side line he seemed like he hasn’t breathed for a week he was so winded. Iowa went on to win the game 49 - 14. Iowa really surprised both of us on how they played!

After we got out of all the traffic that took us an hour and thirty-six minutes to get to Cedar Rapids and we checked into our hotel that we previously reserved, and we noticed how bad the smell was still really bad, but we could do nothing about it. I decided I should call my mom and tell her how my day went like: Went to the Business school office, Went to the football game, and tailgated. (IC: List or Explanation)So after that we went to bed. We were up early for the free continental breakfast that the hotel the next morning. (IC DC.) As we got in our car we started to head to Cleveland where we would stay the night. As we kept driving we stopped in Joilet, Illinois to eat at Texas Roadhouse. Things I like to eat there is steak, mashed potatoes, and the buns. (IC with a List) We both had a New York Strip for 19.99$. When the Steak entered my mouth it tasted like heaven entering my mouth. (Taste) But the thing that got us were the buns they tasted so good. So we decided to sneak a few out. After we paid our bill and gave the waitress a tip we headed down the road to fill up with gas. After we filled up we headed to Cleveland and we made it there as it was nightime. We checked in and got very bored really quickly. So we headed out to walk around and we found a small dog with a small collar so we picked it up and looked around to see if anyone was looking for a dog. Out of no where an African-American woman tapped Mr. Friederich on the shoulder and said, “that is my puppy thank you for finding her!” As we turned around it was former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. She said, “ Thank you very much! How could I ever repay you?” I said, “well we are heading through Augusta in a few days maybe you could call someone to let us play a few holes at Augusta National?” She replied “I think I could get you two in!” (Dialouge) I was pumped! It felt like the next few days flew by. Except when we visited the Washington Monuement and Hamilton Pool Preserve. They were both awesome to see. Right next to the Washington Monument the Mall pool was filled with algea and seaweed because of some person did something stupid with it. (Human Environmental Example) With the Hamilton Pool Preserve overtime the river decayed and now it turned into a waterfall, and pool. When we were there someone did something to react with the limestone and now it is acid leaked off, and they won’t let us swim in it until it is cleared to be swam in. (Human Environmental Example) As we finally arrived at Augusta National we were ready to play. As soon as we got out of the car it felt windy but it was about eighty degrees. (Comparing Regions) When we got in the clubhouse we were immediately greeted. They hooked us up with new clubs and they told us just to keep them. On the first nine holes I was leading Mr. Friederich by 2 strokes. After we finished up I destroyed Mr. Friederich! Just kidding only by three strokes did I beat him!

Bam! We driving from a successful weekend in Austin, Texas. As we visited the business school and we got to see the Hamilton Pool Preserve and actually swim in it.
But as we left our Hotel we headed to Las Vegas for the night But we stopped in Tucson for gas. After gas we got out of there quick, so we could get to Las Vegas quicker. Once we entered Las Vegas we saw the sign welcome to the fabulous Las Vegas. Then for no apparent reason Friederich said some random quote from the movie The Hangover. It went like “How ‘bout that ride in? I guess that’s why they call it Sin City”. I just sat and laughed and thought, “ Why did I bring this character”? When we got to the hotel we ended up getting a Villa for no reason. So when we got in the room Friederich said “since I'm old enough I'm going to go play some games. So I gave him $5 and said to him “This is your lucky $5. Twenty minutes later I heard a loud knocking on the door. I went to the door and looked through the peep hole and saw it was Friederich. I opened the door immediately. He couldn’t breath because he was so excited. He said, “I put the five dollars in a slot and said we won ten million dollars! We were jumping up and down and realized we should go to bed since it is so late. Next morning we got up showered, ate breakfast, and then got in the car and drove to the nearest gas station and filled up. It was really high at $3.71 per gallon. (Movement Example) Then we left for eugene. We got to the hotel in Eugene and we got to the front desk as the lady asked, “ How may I help you”? I said, “ We had a reservation for a hotel under the name of Brown”. As she checked she couldn’t find it. We politely asked if she could check again. But we still weren’t in there of course it was the night of the biggest home game for the Ducks this year so every hotel was out of rooms. I was frustrated with Friederich because he was supposed to reserve the hotel room. although we were both millionaires we both had to sleep in the car tonight. As we woke up we didn’t look or smell the greatest. Fortunately we had deodorant, cologne, toothbrush, and toothpaste. Otherwise we would smell horrendous. We went through our usual go to admissions office visit then to around the campus and visit the business building. We weren’t in the greatest mood and neither was the admissions office secretary. She would give us a smirk like she hated us. We weren’t to fond of her either. Although she gave us directions to the admissions office we headed out. The next few hours were a blur; however, it took forever. (IC; IM,IC.)

As we left Eugene we headed to Denver for the night. We filled up in Eugene at a little convenience store named Conoco. As we filled up we realized that per gallon it is $3.88. We just sat there in amazement. We drove one state up and the gas prices raised over eleven cents. (Movement Example) As were on our way to Salt Lake City for our first stop to fill up on the way to Denver. The roads were bare. Like we were the only ones driving on them. As we get to Denver for the night we both contact our families, and tell them we will be back tomorrow. As we were just too excited to get back home we went to bed. When we woke up we showered, and ordered breakfast from the hotel that they brought up to the room. After we got done eating we got in the car and went to the nearest gas station and filled up with gas. It was $3.49 per gallon which is a lot lower than it was in Oregon or Nevada. As we started driving these hours took forever. We finally reached Omaha where we filled up again. Then we got in our car and zoomed home. When we got home my mom I ran right downstairs and jumped in my bed and took a nap. Friederich took his bag out of the back of my car and got in his car and drove home. When I looked back on this trip I realized which Universities were right for me and which ones weren’t. I really had a good time and I think I got a good decision on which one is best for me.
