I remember dancing Thai Khon Rama a dramatic main genera of Thai dance, the teachers would force our fingers back to touch our wrist to show elegant finger movement. I also remember having sore fingers and painful wrist injures from learning all of the 563 non speaking movements. The number one rule that my teacher told me was: show no pain if I wanted to become the best dancer in my class. My goal was to get a lead role in the dance and I did when I earned my dance level 6 where most professionals were dancing. When I first started my professors and Thai friends claimed I was the first ever Hmong to dance and pass the auditions.

1 year later:


"Hi Mrs. Meesang I am ready to rehearse again..." said Pichy excitedly while entering to the huge empty dance studio.

" Hello Pichy, get ready and put on your jong kra bane (Thai wrap pants)" Mrs. Meesang said forcibly. As Pichy was wearing his pants he heard.

" hi Mrs. Meesang I'm here! " said Pamporn. She then went to the locker and then shocked to hear.

" Hello, get right into stretches. " said Mrs. Meesang kindly

" Help! Help! Chuay Dauy! Kom yu a ja? " said Lim horridly and panicky . She was on the floor with her pants on with her white bloody stained shirt.

" what is going on? What happened? " Pichy said gracefully, running on the hard wood floor.

" I am hurt " Lim said while chuckling.

" What's is wrong with you? Are you ok? Do you need a doctor - "

" Hahaha Pichy Narak mak mai! I am just kidding na I am fine. " Lim said as she laughed her way back up on her feet.

" What was that for ja? Your so mean. I - " said Pichy when lim rudely interrupted and said

" I need to tell you something, I want go to visit my mom in Chiangmai " she said calmly.

" Why, are you randomly asking now, you haven't seen your mom for almost a year now. " said Pichy.

" I know but I want to see her because I'm going to be moving soon. " said lim while looking him straight in the eye.

" ok, we can go tomorrow morning after dance and- " Pichy said when Tum rudely interrupted and said

" Hey Lim whatcha doing? Are you ready for our date? " lim quietly responded

" Yes, but let me change my clothes. " Pichy was was very jealous of Tum because he was dating Lim and lim was blinded by his love to see his love for her.

" wait are we still going tomorrow? " Pichy said .


The next day...


When Pichy walks out of the dance studio he saw Lim and asked

" Hey are we still going to vist your mom in Chiang Mai? " Lim said with heavy exhausted breathing

" Yes, but can you buy me a iced- tea? " Pichy excitedly said

" Yes no problem "

As Pichy went to the market he saw Tum with Pamporn, his heart was broken for Lim.

Pichy thought to himself " I can't tell Lim! " he then went back to the studio to give Lim her drink. Lim and Pichy went on the bus and road a bumpy ride to Chiang Mai.

Once they arrived to there bus stop Pichy said


" So, where do we go now? " Lim weakly replied

" We are here " when Lim was walking she saw her mother, her mother than asked her.

" Honey, how are you? Your so white and - " Lim replied sickly.

" I am fine ka " as they both went inside the living room.

When they all got inside the home Pichy looked and saw Lim's family portrait, the only thing missing was her father.

Just when Lim and her mother was cooking all of sudden Pichy asked

" What happened to your father Lim? " she looked at him in his brown eyes and said quietly.

" He left when I was 7, he ran off with his mistress. " Pichy then looked at Lim and thought to himself.

" I should of never asked. " he then looked at the time realized it was getting late. So he pulled out his IPhone 4 and called Tum and asked him.

" ?????? " Pichy said while hearing loud blasting music. Tum replied

" Hello khrap, what do you need? " Pichy replied with a firm tone

" where are you and who are you with? " Tum replied shyly

" I'm with Pamporn at Khao San Rode and XIS is doing a concert. " Tum then surprisingly bumped into Mrs. Meesang and hung up his phone. Mrs. Meesang then asked.

" Hi Tum and Pamporn, what are you guys doing here ja? " Tum anxiously looked around and said.

" I am here with Pamporn for the XIS concert. " he said confused. Mr. Meesang knew that he was dating Lim but never thought that he would cheat on her with Pamporn. Mrs. Meesang then walked off with her grocery bags and smiled back.
As the night went on Pamporn and Tum went home. As Tum was walking her home Pamporn asked.

" Hey, do you love Lim? " Tum pulled her aside and looked at her and said

" I love her alot, even if she was sick, poor, or hurt. Nothing could ever come between us. " Pamporn and Tum got closer, closer, and closer then Pamporn kissed him.
