Society Kills
You think you're alone in the world. You feel like no one understands how you feel. you cry in your room for hours and dry your eyes, put your smile on and go out into the world. You look in the mirror and all you see is the imperfections. Your lips are too thin or too thick. Your eyebrows aren't as thin as hers. Your eye lashes cease to exist. Your nose might as well be red and come with matching shoes, right? your ears could be mistaken for an elephants. Why don't you just join the circus? Instead you turn up the heat, cake on the powder, pluck away the mistakes, and plaster on a smile. Your hair hasn't been alive for the past two years and no ones seen the real you ever since Society killed you. Your diet consist of a lovely helping of anything you want! but than down the drain it goes and you cough it up in the girls bathroom while all the other girls stuff their bras. You go on through the day and smile at the boy from English class and hide from the b**** in Math. You hear the bell ring and scurry home just so you can get away from Society for a few more hours, right? wrong. You press a few keys, click a few things, and scroll through Hell. You see everything you hate. Everything you wish would disappear. Everything you wish would go away. Everything you want to be. Dozens of innocent threats slide down the screen. Puckered lips, barely hips, and more reasons to believe you're just a no one flash before your eyes and glue themselves to your mind. You shut up the b**** feeding it to you and stumble into the bathroom. The reflections greeting you disturbs you and you lose it all. You wish you could look like the girl from science or get the guy from the football team but all you have is yourself, but than it all comes back to you. The girl who cried on the first day of kindergarten. The girl who won the spelling bee. The girl who was loved by her family. The girl her mother just to go to the toy store. The girl who slept in her parents room when there was a thunder storm. And the girl who used to not care about the world's opinion. The girl who used to love being different. The girl hiding behind the eye liner, concealer, damaged hair, and fake smile. You watch the blackened tears stream down your face as you decide weather the girl inside of you is still alive, or if shes died of change. You wipe off the lies. You brush off the hate. And you smile up a storm. You know why? because you finally realized Society is a b****, and the only way to prove her wrong, is to prove you're alive. The next day you walk down the hall and smile at the guy from the football team and strut past the girl from Math.Than you notice the girl in tears on the bench and the guy trying to fit in with the all stars. That's when you realize... you're not alone, but you are one in a million who beat the beast. and now you're the beauty. without the make up and with the mind set of a warrior.you're perfect the way you are. Don't let Society kill you, you kill Society.
