Vacation
I looked over again and again trying to see when my father was going to get a fish on his line. my mother was ferociously chopping watermelon in the kitchen, and my brother and i were out playing tag. It was one of the most beautiful days that I have seen in a long time. Coming from a big city, I can't see anything through the big black skyscrapers and hear the buzzing of the millions of taxis zooming around. Being out here in the wild, open land I can really see the rest of the world. The water was crystal clear and a deep dark blue. How could anyone ever resist coming out to the real world. I felt a strong breeze, I looked away staring right into a deer's eyes, it was up on top of a little hill just watching what we were doing not moving a muscle. I had never seen a real living deer in the wild. It was amazing. Hoping that I didn't spook him carefully started to sneak my way over towards him. He was almost like a statue. Finally I got to close and he started to trot off, looking back as he went to see if I was following him, I sat there staring at him amazed that it was so close to him. I wondered how the deer wasn't scared. How it didn't think that I was a predator.
It was our last day of vacation and I thought back to my self at what I have seen. We went hiking, fishing, and being out here out of our cage, free from the rest of the world, alone. it was going to be a long ride home, almost a 6 hour drive back. I don't really want to go back. But I know that we had to. We were leaving less than a hour and we still had to pack up everything. Ding ding ding went the dinner bell, me and my brother both raced to the house hoping to get the first plate full of fresh food.
We ate packed up and then were on our way back to the big city. No one in the car wanted to go home, we all wish that we could have stayed longer, mom and dad both had work to get caught up on, and we had school work. Our lives where going back to normal. I hope that we will come back next year. I had so much fun, I think that we all had fun. Soon I was talking to my mom about all of the things that we had done over vacation, there was so much to talk about, before I knew it we were pulling into my driveway, and we were back being our normal selves. Back to how we were before we went on vacation. Mom and dad both went back to work and we were back in school getting caught up. It was hard going back to the normal life we live, but after a while we got back into the grooves of things
