I won't If You Won't
I Won't If You Won't
He sat in his room just listening to their song. He was listening to the song he and the one he very much so loved. He was dying to be with her. He didn't care how she looked or what she wore. He loved her for her personality. Now she was gone because he had made a small yet terrible mistake.
His name was Jonathan. Months ago he was among the “popular” group. He was popular because he was smart, funny, built, and fairly good looking. That meant he could just about have any girl he wanted. However, he still didn't have a girlfriend. His best friend, Dustin, who wasn't as popular, did. That was only because he had been nice to the girl for some time. When he finally decided he would ask her out, she decided to give it a shot.
They were together for about a year. While they were together they hadn't had their first kiss as a couple. After that year their relationship fizzled out and they broke up. Jonathan had never really gotten to know the girl very well because Dustin hardly ever talked about her, though around the last few weeks they were together, Jonathan, who had never properly introduced himself to her, introduced himself to her.
The girl's name was Denise. Denise wasn't popular but from the way she talked and used her words it was actually incredibly surprising that she wasn't. She was beautiful too. Others would notice too, but she was always hiding behind her glasses and her hair. Her eyes were oceanic blue and sparkled. Her hair was was silky brown, smooth and flat. Her skin was a caramel tan color year around. She was thin and had an excellent figure.
Jonathan was never nervous with girls but this one was different. This time, every time he talked to her he got nervous. He found it getting harder than ever to talk to her. After about a week, Colby, a close friend of Jonathan's, noticed that they were spending time together at school and began making immature love jokes, of which were beginning to become true.
Soon after Colby began making his jokes, Jonathan had built up enough courage to finally ask Denise on a date. Instead of saying yes, she gave him the answer of “I don't know.” That answer nearly drove him insane over the next two days. He didn't have her number so he couldn't call or message her.
Once they were back in school, he asked again. This time she gave an answer. Her words were “I spent the past two days just thinking about you and what I should do. And you know what, I decided I will go out with you." Hearing those words made his heart skip a beat. He had to hold in a victory cry. He got her number then and as soon as he could, started texting her. This was the happiest he had been in a very long time.
Months went by going great. Going on date after date. It wasn't until after exactly a year that they had finally had their first kiss. It was awkward being face to face as it was, what made it worse was Denise's family had pushed them into kissing. Her lips were just as soft as he had imagined them to be. Although they had been pressured into the kiss, for Jonathan, it was amazing.
Once Dustin found out he became irritated about this, for he was jealous because he had never gotten to kiss her. He had waited so long for the opportunity to do so. He had even tried several times, just to be denied the kiss. Because of this Dustin refused to be friends with Jonathan. Jonathan, who had no idea Dustin did not want to be friends, was confused and hurt by this act.
Dustin began doing small but hurtful things to affect their relationship. Jonathan and Denise were constantly arguing about the rumors spread by Dustin, mainly about Jonathan.
Soon Dustin had made a mistake. He had gone too far. He personally told Denise that he had caught Jonathan with another girl. Which was true, he had been. What Dustin hadn't mentioned was that the girl was Jonathan's cousin Libby. Libby actually happened to be a lesbian. All of this Dustin knew because Jonathan had told him.
Denise wouldn't even let the breath out of his mouth before she had ended the relationship. Jonathan then went home and morned. Jonathan was furious. At himself, at Dustin, who he recently found out started all the rumors, and at life for being awful to him. He went, picked up a blade and cut deep into his arm and drew blood. He sat there crying. He didn't cry because of the pain, he cried because he was miserable without her.
He went to school the next day with cuts all up and down his arm. He knew that people knew what he did. His hands were balled up into first. He walked down the hall until he saw Denise. He stopped and starred at her and she starred back. She was looking at his arms. He hid them this time. Finally he walked past her and went to his locker to get a jacket and then to class.
Later that day he was sitting in his room listening to their song. He had realized that his little mistake was ever being friends with Dustin. After a while he received two messages: one from Dustin the other from Denise. Dustin's message read "Dude I'm sorry." Denise had said "You deserve this." Jonathan just simply said "No I don't... the girl was my cousin."
The next day Jonathan walked slowly in the school with his head down. Denise ran up to him half crying and showed her arms and said "I'm sorry." Jonathan looked up and hugged her and said "Promise me you won't do this anymore. I won't if you won't."
