A Dream Not Come True
After 7 hours of mindless car games, countless movies, and all the junk food you could imagine, I had finally arrived at the most magical place on earth – Disney World! I could barely contain my excitement as I skipped through the gates of the Magic Kingdom. My dream was about to come true. I was finally going to meet the most beautiful princess. I rushed to the information booth to grab a map. A singular thought raced through my mind, “I must find my beloved Rapunzel!” As I ran towards my destiny, a family of foreigners stopped me and asked, “Camera….. Click, click?” and shoved an expensive camera into my hands. I guess I can help them out. I slowly walked backwards to get a better view of the family, but suddenly I tripped, falling straight into a fountain. Panicking, I quickly jumped to my feet and realized I had dropped something. Along with the camera, my heart sank down to the bottom of that penny-filled fountain.
I heard the Chinese father let out a lurid cry of anger. I had no time to think, so I ran! I sprinted through Adventureland into Liberty Square. Running at a torrid pace and not looking where I was going, I ran face first into an obese, sweaty sasquatch of a man, smashing his ice-cream cone right into my chest. Outraged, he grabbed my shirt and yelled “You’re going to pay for this.” I had no way to escape. My only alternative was to pull free of my shirt. Just as I did, the foreign family turned the corner and spotted me. The father yelled, “???????!” and I took off running once more. Shirtless, wet, and cold, I searched frantically for a place to hide. I swiftly lunged into a bush to avoid my pursuers.
I hid silently and watched the family and obese man run by; however, they would soon become the least of my problems. Buzzing began to fill my ears and I could feel sharp pains all over my body. I stand up to find I had sat right on a hornet’s nest. My face began to swell with venom. I had no choice but to run back to the fountain to escape from the continuous angry stinging of the insects. I grabbed a straw out of a small child’s slushy along the way and lay flat on my back in the green water. Breathing through the straw, I count to 100 before sitting back up again. When I emerged out of the water, the Chinese family and obese man were waiting with security to make me leave the park, but I wasn’t going to give up that easily. With no other weapon to fight with, I scoop up a handful of pennies and chuck them at the two guards. The pennies hit them both in the eyes, giving me the perfect advantage. The family began to grab me, but without a shirt I was more slippery than a bar of soap. The large man attempted to throw his hot dog at me, but I dodged it. I rush away, escaping my small hate-mob once more.
I began to make my way to my beloved princess. After wandering around for about 15 minutes, ignoring the intense pain in my face from the stings, my search for the Disney Princess Fairytale Hall had ended. It was as though I had found the gates to heaven, my heart fluttered with joy. I took my place in the lengthy line, and waited. Shrills and screams of girls were constant the entire hour I waited along with strange, bewildered looks from their families. Finally, I was next in line. Just as I was about to be called up, a girl on the shoulders of her father dropped her gum into my hair. I tried to yank it out, but only made matters worse. A worker told me it was my turn, so I left my hair as is. I thought to myself, “Rapunzel will love me regardless.” I made my way towards her and what a beautiful sight she was. Hair softer than silk, eyes as green as emeralds, and a scent sweeter than the fragrance of any flower. She looked at me and smiled and then… darkness. I awake to a man that smelled like cigarettes shaking me saying “Listen buddy, its 4 a.m. I just want to go home.” I had fainted at the first sight of Rapunzel. With no money for another ticket and a broken heart, I know I’ll have to wait another year for my dream to come true.
