It was a cool Monday morning at 7:15, and Jimmy was still in his bed with his pillow over his head. Jimmy’s alarm woke him up, but did not get him off his bed. Then his uncle shouted from the kitchen.

“Jimmy! Get up and get ready for school! ” shouted Uncle Robert from the kitchen table.
“Come eat your breakfast before it gets cold!” shouted Aunt Lizzy.
“Okay, okay!” Jimmy shouted from his room.
As he slowly got out of bed, he looked at a picture of his parents, which gave him a sad look. Then he sadly walked to the kitchen and sat down. He looked at his plate and saw that his aunt had made vegetables for breakfast.

“Ugh! Vegetables again?” whines Jimmy looking at his aunt.

“It’s good for your body Jimmy,” said Aunt Lizzy. “Now eat quickly and get ready for school or you’ll be late.”

“I don’t want to go to school and you know why,” Jimmy replied.

“Yes, yes, but you must try to keep a distance from the boy,” said Aunt Lizzy.

“But-” Jimmy said, but got interrupted by his uncle.

“Just hit him the next time he messes with you,” Uncle Robert joked.

“Robert!” Aunt Lizzy yelled at him, then turned to Jimmy. “Jimmy, don’t listen to him. Just try to avoid them, you hear me?”

“Yes, Aunt Lizzy,” Jimmy replied. Then he quickly ate his breakfast and ran to his room to get ready. He changed his clothes then brushed his teeth. Then put on his shoes, grabbed his backpack, and then went to the front door.

“Uncle Robert, I’m ready to go!” shouted Jimmy walking out the front door.

“I’ll be there in a minute!” Uncle Robert shouted from the bathroom. Jimmy looked around and could see lots and lots of beautiful trees with bright yellow and orange leaves. Then about five minutes later, Uncle Robert came out. When they got in the car, they had a little conversation about school.

“How are your grades, Jimmy?” Uncle Robert said.

“Good,” replied Jimmy. By Jimmy’s response, he could tell that Jimmy didn’t really want to talk about anything related to school. He hated having conversation about his grades, and how he’s doing in school.
“You doing fine?”
“Yeah, doing fine,” Jimmy replied looking out the window. Then Uncle Robert looked at him.
“Not failing, are you ?” said Uncle Robert.
“No,” replied Jimmy.

“How are yo-” Uncle Robert said, then was interrupted by Jimmy.

“Can we stop talking about grades already, Uncle Robert?”

“Okay, if you don’t want to talk about it then we will stop,” Uncle Robert replied back. Then Uncle Robert started the car and started to back out of the driveway and onto the street, then started heading for the school, and they didn’t have any more conversation. It was a fifteen minute ride, and all Jimmy did the whole time was look out the window and look at the clouds in the bright blue sky. When they got near the school, he could see the big statue of a young boy holding some books, and had a little companion next to him. His companion is a little dog sticking out its tongue and sitting on its back legs. Jimmy always thought about why they decided to put the statue there, since it had nothing to do with the school. Maybe it’s because of the books that the boy is holding? thought Jimmy, but it doesn’t really matter, what matter was that he must avoid the boy that they were talking about later. Then when they finally arrived, Jimmy got out of the car and closed the door. As he started to walk to class, Uncle Robert opened the window and shouted,
“Be good and be safe kid. Remember, avoid the boy!”

“I will Uncle Robert, and I will try to avoid him,” replied Jimmy looking sad and embarrassed. Then he continued walking to class. He walked pass some kids, then some more and then past the big tree in the middle of the school with bright orange and yellow leaves. Then Jimmy went to his class and sat down on his seat. Though he was five minutes early, the teacher didn’t really mind, because he was a good student. When the other students walked in, Jimmy could see that everyone was looking at him.

“Get your books out,” the teacher said, “school has already started.” Then everyone hurried to their seats and got out their books. Then they started the lesson. After that period, he went straight to his next period, because he did not want to come in contact with the boy that his uncle and him were talking about. When he got to the next class, he sat quietly and did not say a single word. Again, he was five minutes early, but the teacher didn’t mind. It was his favorite period out of all his periods. He knew that after that class, it was going to be the worst class he will ever have. Then he thought to himself if he should just ditch the next period and go wait until next period, but he knew that he could not do that because if he did, his aunt and uncle would be mad and disappointed in him. So he gave it a second thought and decided that he will go no matter what will happen.
After class, he walked to his next class at a very slow pace. “I hate that class. It’s the worst class ever,” he said to himself. When he got there, he saw that everyone was already in their seats except for him. Then he walked to his seat and sat down. On his desk, he saw that someone had given him a folded piece of paper. As he slowly opened it, he could feel a chill going down his spines. Then he read the note, and it says, “Im gonna get you, LOSER!!” He ignored what the note said and got up to throw it away. When he returned to his seat, he saw a big kid in the back looking right at him in the eye. Then the boy shouted, “Loser!” which caused all the kids, including the teacher, to look at him, but they did not say anything. Instead they got back to whatever they were doing. Though Jimmy was a little mad, he ignored the boy in the back and just sat down and continued with the lesson.

When class ended, he quickly packed up and went out to his next class, but he was not quick enough. The big kid caught up to Jimmy and pushed him against the hard wall, then took Jimmy’s backpack, opened it, and took out Jimmy’s stuff and threw it on the floor, then ran away quickly, so the hallway guard wouldn’t be able to see that it was him. It would be a punishment if he was caught. But because he ran away, he didn’t get caught and he just got away with it. Jimmy quickly picked up his book and walked quickly to his class. When he got there, again he just sat down quietly and got out all his stuff that was needed for that class. Next was lunch period and Jimmy didn’t want to go to lunch, because he knew that something bad will happen. He thought about how he would get over lunch period without coming in contact with the kid, because he was afraid that the boy will do something to him. Then the teacher walked to him and softly tapped his desk with her pen.

“Pay attention Jimmy, no daydreaming allowed,” said the teacher.

“Sorry Mrs.Olivia, I will not daydream in class again,” Jimmy replied. Then he continued working and stopped thinking about what he was thinking about before. After class, he slowly packed up and slowly walked to get lunch, hoping to kill some time. After he got his lunch, he walked to the middle of the school where the big tree with beautiful bright leaves was. There, he sat down on a bench and started eating. Then the boy came and threw Jimmy’s food on the ground.

“Please stop, Jason,” said Jimmy.

“You can’t tell me what to do, you’re not the boss of me. I’m the boss of you,” replied Jason.

“I beg you to stop bullying me, please,” begged Jimmy.

“Why should I? Are you scared I might beat you up in front of everyone?” asked Jason.

“No,” replied Jimmy. “Can you just stop?”

“What if I say no?” Jason asked.
Jimmy looked at him then turned away and quickly walked away, but before Jimmy could even get further, Jason ran up to Jimmy. He punched Jimmy on the arm and then tackled him down. Then he stepped about five feet back, allowing Jimmy to get back up on his feet. When Jimmy got back up, he ran toward Jason and pushed him toward the big tree. Jimmy pushed Jason so hard that Jason hit the tree and tripped on a small hole. He twisted his ankle and let out a loud scream that got everyone’s attention. Jimmy could tell that Jason was in real pain and he knew that he will be in big trouble, but he didn’t panic, instead, just stood there.
About five minutes later, the guard came. He asked Jason who did it and he blamed it all on Jimmy and they were both send to the main office. Meanwhile in the office, the school doctor was called to check on Jason’s ankle. Then the principal had to call both parents and were to come at once. When Jason’s parent and Jimmy’s uncle arrived, they could see how bad Jason hurt his ankle. Jason’s parent were really mad, but they were told to calm down. After a long talk, both parents were told to take their kid and go home. Both kids were suspended for a whole week, because of hurting each other. When Uncle Robert and Jimmy got in the car, they had a little conversation.

“What did I tell you this morning? Don’t you ever listen to me?” asked Uncle Robert.

“I’m sorry,” answered Jimmy

“Apologizing is not enough!” yelled Uncle Robert. “Why don’t you ever listen to me?”
Then he starts driving and heading for home.

“Please don’t ever do it again,” said Uncle Robert.

“Okay, I won’t Uncle Robert, but you must believe me, I did not do anything,” said Jimmy.
“Whether you did it or not, you must promise me that you will listen to me and not do it again,” said Uncle Robert.
“Okay, I promise,” replied Jimmy.
Then they drove all the way home not saying another word. When they got home, Uncle Robert told Aunt Lizzy what happened, and she got really mad.
“Why? Jimmy? Why?” asked Aunt Lizzy, “Why did you do that?”

“I’m really sorry Aunt Lizzy, I should’ve listened to you and Uncle Robert.
“It’s okay Jimmy, what’s done is done and cannot be undo,”
“I felt bad for doing that, but if I don’t stand up for myself, who will?”
“Maybe if you just walk away every time he come to you, then he might just stop bothering you,”
“But-,”
“No but, Jimmy,”
“That’s enough,” said Uncle Robert. “Jimmy, you’re grounded for a whole month.”
“Robert! You can’t just ground him for nothing,” said Aunt Lizzy.
“That boy twisted his ankle and you said it was nothing?”
“Well, he had just learned a very great lesson,” said Aunt Lizzy. Uncle Robert just stayed quiet after that.
“Jimmy what you did was both wrong and right, but be sure that you don’t do it again next time. Hear me?” said Aunt Lizzy.
“Yes,” replied Jimmy.
“Now Jimmy, go to your room,” said Aunt Lizzy. “Uncle Robert and I need to have a talk.”
“Yes, ma’am” Jimmy replied as he started for his bedroom.
When Jimmy got to his room, he was very upset. He could hear his uncle and aunt talking from the kitchen room, but he couldn’t tell what it was about. Then Jimmy laid down on his bed thinking about what had happened at school. He knew it was bad, but he also knew that if he didn’t stand up for himself, no one will. Thinking of that made him sleepy, so he slowly fell asleep. “Everything will be back to normal tomorrow. Tomorrow will be a new day,” Jimmy said to himself. Then fell asleep.
