Cancer
“Lourin, why did you lie to me about having type 3 cancer?” asked John. “I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want to scare you, or worry you.” said Lourin. John said, “Well too late for that! You have me worried into the next century!” Lourin Apologized and said, “I’m sorry! I should have told you right when I found out but I was scared out of my mind and I hadn’t accepted the thought of cancer yet. John, I hope you will understand my reasons for not telling you right away, I was going to tell you, but you didn’t give me a chance to tell you!” John said, “When were you going to tell me? When! “I was going to tell you today, when we were going to have lunch together.” said Lourin. John’s face turned into a smile, and John and Lourin start to laugh. They laughed for a little while then hugged. “I will be by your side the whole time you go through chemo and all your treatments again” said John. A week later John was sitting next to his fiance’s bed while she slept. Then all of a sudden his soon to be wife’s heart rate was slowing down and five nurses and her doctor came running in. Two nurses had to carry John away as he yelled for Lourin. Ten minutes later Lourin was pronounced dead on February 14th, Her Birthday and the day they were suppose to get married.
An hour later the doctor came in and told John that Lourin was almost a month pregnant. John was so very confused why Lourin hadn’t told him that they were going to have a baby. That night John cried for hours for the loss of a loved one and the death of his own child. He decided to name the child Agape, the Greek word for love.
