Kidnapped
I try to scream, but only a strangle sound comes out. A hand is over my mouth.
“Keep quiet if you want to live, Rose.” a threatening voice says behind me. I nodded my understandings, not knowing what else to do.
The hand lifted, but I was still silent, looking around me at the stream I spent my time at. How could I have gotten like this? Everything was fine an hour ago.
* * * * *
“I’m going to the stream! It’s too loud here,” I called to my mother.
“Okay. Be back in two hours.”
I left and walk down the path that leads to the stream, it calms me to dip my feet in there and let the water run over them. Finally reached the bank. I sat down and took my shoes off, my feet relaxed the second they hit the slow, calm waters.
Soon after, I got up put my shoes back on. I started to walk back home, But I never even made it to the path. Hands grabbed my hands and feet, but I kicked with all my strength. That’s when I start to scream.
* * * * * *
I asked the question that had been haunting me for the whole walk with the strange men. “What is it you want?”
“I suggest you stay quiet and I might just tell you later.”
I fell silent, but I was wondering what was going on.
I had no idea what to do. As soon as we got to a car I was tied up and blindfolded. they put duct tape over my mouth and a bag over my head. Then I was thrown into the trunk. Every time we turned, I was thrown against the side, hitting my head and body many times. I was sore and bruised by the time we finally stopped.
When they opened the trunk, the sudden sunlight temporarily blinded me. The two men grabbed me again and brought me into a house. There were no sounds at all, until I heard a door open and close near me. I was set down in what I think was a chair. The bag was taken off my head, and they took the duct tape off my mouth, but I was still silent. I was scared. What was I going to do? That’s when I noticed the silence that surrounded me. Then something else hit me. I realized that one of them had said my name. How did they know my name?
I was scared. I still wasn’t able to move or see and even though I could talk, I didn’t for fear of getting hurt. I shivered, suddenly cold.
“Oh, the little Rose is cold.” I heard an evil voice say behind me. I could hear the sarcasm that he portrayed.
“Well, be good and we might reward you. If you don’t, you will suffer greatly. Do you understand?” He snarled at me.
I nodded, too frightened to open my mouth.
“I see you won’t give us any trouble by talking. Good. We are leaving now. I might come back with food, if I think you deserved it.”
I nodded again. The door slammed and I was left alone.
As soon as they left, I heard a loud, sharp sound of gunshots. I jumped, frightened. I didn’t know what to think. I thought that I was going to die or maybe someone knew I was missing and has come for me.
Someone ran in through the door. I jumped again. They took the blindfold off my head. I could finally see. I turned my head to see only a girl, maybe eighteen years old. “Who are you?” I asked quietly.
“My name is Amy. You are all over the news,” she replied as she untied me.
“How did you find me?”
“I was kidnapped by the same two people as you, but I escaped. They have killed many girls in the past, I was just lucky that I got away.”
“Yeah, I’d say.”
“Let’s get out of here.” Amy said very fast.
We rushed out of the house. “How did you kill them?” I asked as we ran past the two dead guys.
“I found their guns in the car,” Amy said quietly
“Oh… Are we almost in town yet?”
“Yes, we are. Now, where do you live?” Amy asked.
“Right down this road.”
We finally arrived at my house. I ran inside, I hugged my mom and explained everything about how I was kidnapped.
