As she sat in the audience the music made her mind drift to the day that her grandmother passed away and she started to cry. This was her grandmother's favorite song. She remembers when she was getting ready for her first day of school and this song was playing while her grandma did her hair.

She remembers sitting at the piano with her grandma, learning the keys to the song. She didn’t know the notes of the piano but she knew the keys and that it sounded beautiful when it was just the piano.

She remembers at her wedding and how she played this song so she could dance with her grandma in front of everyone who attended.

When the pain of having her first child was over she played this song to soothe her beautiful little girl.

The girls day they had together when that little girl was five and they took her to see a performance where this song played. The grandma was becoming weaker at this point.

She remembers playing this while her grandmother laid in her bed and took her final breath.

Dressed in black, listening to this song as her grandmother… no her idol got laid in the ground.

She played that song to her other two children too as they grew up.

Now she herself becoming weaker is watching the song be played.

A tiny hand grabs her hand and she looks over to a little girl.

“Grandma are you okay? You’re crying.” Worry was in the eyes of the little girl.
“Yes Sweetheart, just thinking of my grandma.” I told her as i wiped a falling tear away.
“Was she nice grandma? Mommy says she’s nice but I want to hear it from you too.” A tiny smile formed on the grandma’s face.
“She was really nice. She loved me more than anyone in the world.”
“What about your mommy and daddy?”
“Well you see my mommy and daddy died when I was only 3.”
“Oh, I’m sorry grandma.” I smiled down at her.
“Don’t worry sweetie. If they hadn’t died then I probably wouldn’t know this song so well. Also I wouldn’t have gotten to grow up with one of the most wonderful ladies in the world..”

She smiled up at me, a light in her eyes reminded me of my grandmother.

Then we continued watching.

The little girl making memories and I remembering mine.
