Final Exam Essay
A hand gently caressed her face, pushing her blonde hair behind her ear. A soft smile crept upon her face as she opened her eyes to him lying next to her. The birds suddenly became loud enough for her ears to recognize. The hazing yellow and pink colors flooded their bedroom, and from the mirror, she could see a slight breeze blowing her long white curtains in a steady rhythm. Her long, dainty arms stretched as far as they could go before she let out a blissful sigh and wrapped her arms around him.
The pasture's wildflowers sang to them all morning as they danced around the kitchen so deeply infatuated with one another. Their love builds a certain tension and gives butterflies in a mere moment of eye contact. Their hands meet as she twirls around, creating a spark of endless laughter. She gathers the wild berries spread across the counter and they walk through the swinging door leading outside.
A large quilt pushed up against the sky before falling gracefully back to the ground. It laid perfectly across the vibrant grass, and that’s where they stayed for the remainder of the morning. She loves the way he finds joy in the most mundane things, as he searches the grass for neatly shaped rocks. He gets excited to hear the distant bark of their dog coming to visit. Together they run about and he crashes back onto the blanket in a breathless giggle. His love consumes her in a way that she has never felt. His presence offers adventure and uncertainty.
A hand gently caressed her face and she felt free. “I love you”, he said.
