There Are Soul Mates In Heaven
I take your aged wrinkled fingers and wrap them around mine. I remember when we were fifteen and had our first kiss at the beach. We hadn’t even met, somehow we just knew. If only to go back to that simple place now… If only to have more time with each other… How did we get so old? I get underneath the covers and give you gentle kisses. You sigh and close your eyes. We both die tonight. You have taken your soul away from your body and mine has just left my mind. I just have to wait for my flight out of here to be with you again. We can be foolish and dance in the rain again. We can have our young bodies back and feel invincible. Because baby, there are soul mates in Heaven.
