The Gem
The girl was roaming through the forest near the village. The trees blew faintly in the late autumn wind. The girl was desperate to find herbs to feed her sick brother. As she scanned her surroundings, a flash of orange light caught her eye. The girl followed the flash to find a gem sticking out from the earth. The gem was big and orange. The girl was thrilled to find a possible remedy to her brother’s disease. She took the gem and sprinted back to her village. The villagers were overjoyed when they found out about the gem. They told her she could sell it so she could buy medicine to cure her brother.
