' Everyone keeps telling me how my story ends. Nah Imma do my own thing' - Miles Morales.

After many long years of slumber, Lucky groggily opened his button eyes as he woke up in the dark. He thought of what a weird place he found himself in as he lay still. Using his painted mouth, he called for somebody, ‘Hello? Anyone There’ and patiently waited for an answer. Unfortunately, no other voice rang out, so he assumed he was alone.

Now he could use his little cotton legs to get up and walk around, but he has no clue how to move his legs. So, all he could do was stare up ahead.

He thought the darkness was a comforting presence at best, so he continued to stay still, but after a long time of staring up at the dark, Lucky slowly became bored. He found out that doing only one thing isn’t that fun, so using his cotton brain he thought about something else to do. After thinking long and hard. He thought about exploring again, but he knew if he had to explore, he’s going to have to learn to move his limp limbs.

Lucky settled on moving his hands first.
On the first five tries his arm lay still. His arms only moved at the sixth try, but only moved an inch. The seventh and eighth tries resulted in the same results as before. On the ninth try his arms flew up to the sky and fell back down on the ground, and on the tenth try Lucky used all his might to tug his arms away from the ground and up to the sky. Sending them high up, to where Lucky can see his rounded hands for the first time. Before they could fall again, landing on Lucky’s button eyes.
Not the results he was expecting, but it was great progress, nonetheless.

Now knowing how to move, Lucky uses his force to toss his right arm to the left, which flipped the little doll over. He threw his two little arms forward and tried to see if he could stand up. Once his hands landed on the floor, and his legs are up on his knees and. Lucky begin to crawl.

As he crawled and crawled in the dark, Lucky realized that there isn’t anything interesting about being in the dark. He knows that the dark isn’t all bad, but he realized dark doesn’t have much to offer. So, he continued to crawl further and further, until he crawled into something.

BHAP!

Lucky became dazed, he wasn’t sure what he bumbled into. But apparently something was there. He touched the mystery object to see what it was. The mystery thing seems thin and is probably made of carboard. It is also sturdy, and tall, and can properly stand still. Lucky politely knocked on the wall. ‘Hello?’.
.....

Nobody Answered. Quite unfortunate Lucky thought, as he slumped down to the ground again. Not sure what to do now that there's something in the way.

Thud!

Just shortly after Lucky sat on the ground a muffled thud occurred behind the wall, startling the rag doll. It wasn’t long until Lucky could hear another sound from behind. ‘Wait up Spark?’ cried the unknown voice behind the wall, as well as the dog’s energetic barking. What odd sounds Lucky thought, as he looked up.  ‘Huh, another gift?’ whispered the unknown voice. A knock was heard above Lucky, ‘Is anybody there?’ called the mysterious voice.  Lucky not wanting to be rude answered the mysterious voice.

‘Hello?’ called Lucky. The unknown person gasped before speaking to the rag doll. ‘Hey, aren't you a new resident?’. Lucky turned his head sideways ‘What resident?’. ‘A new resident to Playtown.’ Gleefully answered the voice. ‘Am I a resident?’ asked the small doll. ‘Yeah! that's why you’re in a box.” the voice giggled, ‘Want me to get you out?’

‘Okay’ chirped Lucky, as he smiled up at the dark. Lucky was unsure about what the voice meant, but he liked saying yes to everything.
Lucky crossed his legs, as he waited for the voice to make their promise. It didn't take long for the sounds of tearing paper to be heard from behind. Out from the dark, Lucky saw the light for the first time. And it hurt his eyes.

As it shined at the doll and chased the dark away, Lucky quickly shielded his eyes from the growing bright light. It wasn't until the mystery voice, whose voice is clearer, spoke to the doll.

‘Hey, it’s okay, you can open your eyes now.”

Lucky slowly lowered his hands and opened his eyes, to see a large empty room with carboard for walls. Up ahead the sky has changed, instead of black is replaced with giant shining ball that's far away. In front of the ragdoll there was a large carboard wall in front of him that was tall but not so much, as He thought it would. Lucky clutched the ledge of the wall and held on to it, for dear life, while his legs dangled.
Peeping from the ledges, Lucky saw fresh grass laying all around, with small daisies attached to them, like ballons to their strings. The sky is full of fluffy clouds that stray from afar going to a news place every hour. Trees stood tall from a distance, as they came with different shapes, as they observed the doll in the distance. And a gentle cool breeze swayed lightly.  Lucky, like a baby bird out of its egg, was in complete awe of the fresh new sight.

‘Nice view am I right?’. It's the voice of a mysterious nice person coming from the near left.
Lucky turned around, to see a doll, half of Lucky’s height, towering over him. Made from dirty cloth and crude stitches His painted face was almost faded and replaced with long buttons for eyes and stitches for a mouth. Standing next to him is a small plush white dog, with stains of filth attached to its fur.

The musty doll spoke again, ‘I said ‘Nice view am I right’?’ to which the little ragdoll nodded ‘It sure is pretty I do must say.’
‘Wait until you get to the city.’ chuckled the tall doll ‘Thats where all the fun takes place.’  The tall doll extended his hand to Lucky.
‘What's your name by the way, fella?’  asked the tall, dirty cotton doll.
‘Name?’ questioned the ragdoll. ‘What's a name?’
‘What do you mean? You don’t know what a name is?’ the tall doll.
Lucky shrugged, ‘I don't know sorry, but may you please explain what a name is?’
‘A name is something you call yourself by. Don’t cha you know your name?’
Lucky gasped ‘As a matter of fact, I do’ The ragdoll held out his hand ‘my name is Lucky, what’s your name?’

The tall doll spited on his hand, and eagerly shook his hand ‘David here, nice to you Lucky.’ David quickly released Lucky’s hand and rubbed his hand amongst his sailor-like uniform.
‘So, what you want to do for today?’  Lucky raised a stitched brow. ‘I mean what would you want to do? Since you’re here and free. You must want to do something you whished you want to do.’ Said Daivid.
Lucky thought about it. ‘Hmmm, I’m not too sure...this requires a lot of thinking’.  David chuckled ‘Pfft, no, it doesn't, there has to be something you like?’

Lucky thought long and hard. It may be due to how long Lucky was asleep, but he doesn't know what he likes to do. He doesn't have a favorite game, favorite hobby, favorite food, favorite animal, nor a favorite plant. Lucky truly does not know what it's like to have a favorite thing.

After a while of thinking, he somberly looked down, ‘I’m sorry, but I’m afraid, I don’t know what I like.’ David sighed ‘Thats a shame, but don't worry I know how to fix this, here.’ He offered his hand to Lucky and helped him out of the box. ‘Think you can stand?’ questioned David.

Once Lucky was out of the box, his little legs wobbled and jiggled, until the quivering legs failed him, and made him fall on the grassy patch.

‘Sorry I don't think so.’  moped the glum ragdoll. The plush dog, Sparky, who had been intently listening to the conversation felt horrible for the ragdoll, so he nuzzled his head against the doll, in hopes to cheer him up. The ragdoll still feels down and glum, but he petted the dog as a ‘thank you’ for his efforts.
‘Here, hold onto my hand’ David said before pulling the ragdoll up from the ground. ‘Just hold onto me, okay?’ He said before picking the doll up and walking away from the box, with the dog following nearby.
‘Where are we going?’ asked Lucky.
‘We are going to meet one of the smartest people I know.’ Proclaimed David, ‘She should help you decide on what to do.’  The tall cotton doll said as he, skipped on the lovely meadow, with a ragdoll clinging onto his back, ‘Are you sure she could help me find what I want to do?’  questioned the ragdoll.

‘Of course!’ Cheered David ‘Now come on, we haven’t got much to lose!’ and the three traveled off into the distance, leaving behind a torn box.
