The Edge
You are running through the fog, and finally, you stop. You look around and realize where you are – the edge of the world. You carefully and slowly walk forward, stopping just a step from the edge. You hesitantly crane your neck and peer at the abyss in front of you. Your heart slows from its fast pace as you look around. The deep blues and greens surrounding you, the cool fog. You’re calm, at peace. There’s nobody else in the world but you. You’re alone. As the realization sets in you begin to feel it – the loneliness. You’re completely alone. No one else exists, just you. You take one last step. Over the edge. You wake with a start, the blankets tangled around you. You’re not alone.
