Brevity is the soul of wit

but i talk a whole lot

I sigh as I pace along the side of the highway. It’s surprisingly empty other than a few other cars passing by tonight. I started wondering if I should attempt to stop someone hoping they would let me call a nearby auto repair shop so my car can get fixed. Suddenly, a once obscured vehicle comes to light. It's a pick-up truck with a tow cable attached to it. I frantically wave my hands to signal to the driver and thankfully they stop and park in front of my car. I walked up to the driver’s window and said “thank you for stopping. My car is totally inoperable, the engine has stopped working for some reason. You think you can help?” the stranger leans back in his seat and shakes his head. “I’m afraid I can't help you with fixing your car but I can help take you home.” His voice when he talked sounded so seductive and beautiful, But also weirdly familiar at the same time. I almost declined his generous offer until he said: “I heard that there’s a kidnapper taking young women after stalking them and breaking down their cars in secret. Pretty ghastly if you ask me.” Immediately after, I accepted his offer and hopped in his car. If I had my sister with me she would say “are you crazy!? We don't know if we can trust this guy either!” but she only says that because she’s so paranoid. I turn to the man driving, “By the way, what is your name? I remember while hearing you talk you sounded so familiar.” “Some questions are better left unanswered for now…” he gave off some sort of creepy kidnapper vibe while he was talking. Almost as if he was planning to. A couple hours later as I look out towards the desolate road with no cars passing by, he stops in the middle of the road, puts the car in park, and takes his hands off of the wheel and lays back a bit. “Hey why’d you stop?” “Remember earlier when you asked me who I was and why I sounded so familiar?” “Yes, I do. Why?” and as soon as he turns on the car light, I realize that I have made the worst decision of my life. It was none other than my ex-boyfriend, Still as crazy as when I left him. “W-Why did you do it!?” “I would have never convinced you to get into the car with me if i had shown you my face earlier~” “I LEFT YOU FOR A REASON YOU SIC-” suddenly i feel my body go limp and i can't finish my sentence. I can only move my eyes and notice he’s covered my mouth and stuck a needle filled with a strong sedative into my neck. And slowly as I start to drift to sleep he whispers in my ear “You shouldn’t have left me, and now you’ll never leave me again… see you soon~”  With those final words I drift to sleep.
