Book Review: Fallen by Lauren Kate

The book Fallen is about romance and shows the struggle of dealing with heartbreaks, love, life and betrayal. Luce’s is no ordinary girl. She can see shadows that follow her and may cause trouble for her. Luce’s first love was Trevor and they had a strong connection. When they first kissed the shadows came swirling around them, Luce couldn’t control them and created fire on his body. Afterwards there was nothing at all.
Luce moved schools to finish her senior year at Sword & Cross boarding school. Her parents take her as a “trouble maker” and think that this school will help her out. At Sword & Cross she comes across with a guy named Daniel who she instantly falls in love with. Daniel seems to want nothing with her and tries to make it very clear to her to stay away. Throughout the book Daniel gets some kind of connection with her but still doesn’t want to get near her. Luce gets really desperate to find out what Daniel is keeping a secret.
Luce meets Cameron, also known as Cam. Throughout the book he gets to meet Luce more and more and falls for her. They hang out during lunch or when they have free time. Many more traumatic events happened between them and Luce starts to get suspicious about Cam and her best friend Arriane which she meets at the beginning of the book. Arianne is a girl who was the first one to talk to Luce and she seems to know everything and everyone. Luce is eager to find out why everyone is hiding

something from her and wont seem to tell her. Aside from that, she is still very desperate to find out what Daniel has going on and why he hates her so much.

This book kept me at the edge of my seat. Its like watching a movie but its all in your head and it has very descriptive words which makes it even better to acknowledge it. Its not just about romance but also about life’s struggles that Luce is going through. If you like books with drama, action, and secrets I would recommend you read this book because its like a thriller and you won't be able to stop reading it. There are many secrets in this book that will shock you and will totally change the way you think about Daniel in the beginning of the book.
