The Shadow
I walked into the house in search of just a little warmth while I waited for my older sister. “Hello?” I called. A creak came from the stairs. I walked down the hallway to find a set of stairs covered in blue carpet. “Hello?” I called again. A tall shadow appeared this time, walking towards the stairs. “I’m sorry” I told the figure, “I was in search of warmth and didn’t think anyone was here, I’ll go.” “No!” The figure screeched. Running down the stairs, creaking with each step he caught up to me, and locked the door.
