Mayor of My Town

If I were the Mayor of My Town I would fix up my town.  I would start by getting businesses to move into the few unused buildings in the commercial strip on the side of the highway.  This would help the community by getting a more diverse shopping and business environment, in order to help promote both cheaper options for family and more specific businesses for people who have more unique tastes. This would make the community feel like it was growing and improving toward more whole community.  I would also fix up the road on main street and the most used side street in and out of town which is port washington. These road are battered up and are not just causing harm to the cars that have to drive over the cracked, pothole filled street but also is a bad representation of our community. By fixing the roads it will not only help our community have a safer and more enjoyable ride but, also will allow our image to show that we care about how our community is upkept for the public.  Finally, the biggest thing I would do is be use all of the abandoned building and rundown storage facilities in the north side of our downtown. This area is not only right by our town hall, but also a prominent place in the community that many people drive by everyday. This is promising and excellent real estate area that surely cannot be untouched anymore. My plan is to turn the areas on the right side of the street into a furthering of shopping and apartments. This would be a continuation of the already started Mequon Thiensville Town Center; however, this would essentially triple to quadruple the size of sed Town Center. The idea behind this would be to not only allow more businesses to be able to come into the community but, would also allow apartments for younger family to live in order to be able to have people of different life statuses and incomes to be able to live in this amazing community.  On the right side of the street I would completely get rid of all the old, rusted storage buildings and instead allow big industrial lots to be available to get some diversity in business within the community. This is also the best use of the land as the area isn’t the most pretty and also the longer you take the road back the more scalded and less engaged the area seems to become. This is the perfect spot for business that need big plots of land like construction, logging or manufacturing while still being able to be very close to their homes and a strong and thriving community.

If I were the Mayor of My Town, I would fix it up to be the best it could.  This community is too strong and too proud of what it is to be anything less than that.  I would fix up the parts of town that need a bit more help and a push in the right direction to get to the places it needs to to flourish.  Most importantly, I would get it to the beauty I believe it deserves to show how much I just don’t care about it but, an=m empowered and driven by it.  I would do all this if i were mayor.
