Should School's Require Uniforms.
Schools should not be allowed to restrict a student's creativity. Kids wearing what they like and what feels comfortable to them is the right thing to do. Schools should not require students to wear school uniforms because they limit students from self expressing themselves, and they can add more expenses to the parents.
When going to school kids express their individuality through the clothes they wear. Requiring school uniforms takes this away from students. Students need to self express themselves because this can help them make friends through the stuff they wear. Wearing uniforms will cause students to all wear the same clothes and no more self expression. Also, school uniforms take away the fun school shopping for new clothes students and their families do every year.
Most school’s that require uniforms, overtime they can become expensive for some families. When you go to a school you don’t want money to be an issue. Schools with uniforms can make this an issue for families. It’s not so much that all school uniforms are expensive but some can require an expensive item like a nice pair of shoes that some families can’t afford. Furthermore, depending on the supplies and competition, the uniforms can be kept at a high price.
Some schools and even parents believe school uniforms are good for keeping students from being distracted and allow them to focus on school work. For example, students tend to look at what other people are wearing and it can be a big distraction. Then eventually when fashion trends start trending students will try to keep up with it and it will become a bigger priority than keeping up in class. This can cause students to not be able to pay attention as well. School uniforms prevent this from happening.
In conclusion, school uniforms should not be required in schools because there are too many cons that outweigh the pros. Taking away a student's creativity is a big factor in why schools should not allow uniforms. Students getting to use their self expression during their childhood is very important because this is how they can see who they are and school uniforms take this away.
