Dreading Tomorrow
Eyes brimmed with tears,
The black water streaming down her flushed cheeks.
She looks at her past, the one she thought she left behind.
The past that came back to haunt her.
The scars just beginning to fade away,
The black and blue bruises that form an endless pattern,
Her legs so skinny they look like sticks,
The restless nights of fear.
No escape, No End.
The echoing laughter,
The shredded belongings,
The labels written into her mind,
Over and over again.
Freak. Loser. Fat. Ugly.
Each word wears her away,
Each word makes her dread the next day.
