Sentinels MAG
O, what they’ve seen
Rigidly standing, day and night
Tireless sentinels over the land upon which they live
An explorer, claiming the land for a country that feels entitled to it
A lone prospector with a mule and a dream, almost trampling them
A train of canvas-covered wagons, and dangerously sharp axes
Surveyors, then industrious track crews, laying steel rails that never end
A train of loud metallic wagons ceaselessly rolling through the night
Buzz of saws and rumble of bulldozers, building asphalt trails
Urban slaves retreating to the calm shade of their lush foliage
Tapping of hammers building signature country dream homes
And it has now come to the buzz of a chainsaw
Creating a new existence
Molding
Hardwood
Flooring
Furniture
You will
Miss the
Old when
They’re gone
