Mental Mindset
Let’s talk about our mental mindset or “state”, whichever one you feel most comfortable with labeling it. To even talk about this, we must understand and must have the ability to define the word “mental”. The factual definition of mental is a word that involves “relating to the mind” or “relating to disorders of the mind”. But people define mental in different ways some may say “crazy”, “psychotic “, or “sick” but these 3 terms and many more like this are NOT the correct ways to talk about somebody who may suffer from mental illnesses. As someone who suffers from multiple mental illnesses/disorders, I started to believe that I am “crazy” or “boring”, but nobody knows what happens in my mind or why I'm not myself anymore. For a long time, I let those labels shape the way I saw myself. I started to believe them, even though no one could actually see what was happening inside my mind. It should be handled with care, especially not judgment. If you are struggling like me, try to talk to a parent, relative, or any trusted adult. You don’t have to face it alone like I am because even with help you may feel the same or a bit better. Your mind deserves the same care as your body, and asking for help is a sign of strength.
