Fighting Sisters Bulemia And Anorexia
(A Free Verse Poem of Survival and Self-Awareness)

The Sisters crave the world that spins under me
But I sleep instead, dreaming of heaven's canvas
Grip a shallow hand from crippled company
Against ladies who speak inside my mind

The more mistakes I make, the closer I come
To home from journey's end, to peacefulness
Understanding the pain, I speak in a simple tongue
Craving the wind that spins the world, father's pride

Beggin for help, I dream instead a shallow song
A dark box slowly closing over my head
Binge and purge - leaving these strangers behind
I am finding my way. Never knowing but asking

How can they understand so few of us?
So I speak in a different tongue, 12 steps
Finding a new way from grey words
Slip back into slumber, painting my soul with ice brushes
