The writing titled "How Fair Are the SATs," written by Veenita Patel, talks about how the SATs are unfair. Her writing left me feeling worried and relatable. What caught my eye were the arguments that were used. I see the very same problem with the SAT everywhere. To regognize something that was said in the article, "Just because you may not be able to do 10 math problems that were designed to make you fail, in a certain amount of time, does not mean that you aren't qualified to go to a nice college or university than anyone else.” After reading the article a few times over, I can say that all arguments are valid and make a lot of sense. The author stated, "The SAT makes it extremely difficult for a smart kid living in poverty to go to and Ivy league school because they can't afford test prep materials and classes." This argument, being the main argument of the article, is sure to stump any standardized test supporter. It shows that the SAT contradicts everything that America stands for when it comes to our education. Maybe it's even part of the reason that we don't match up with other countries on terms of our education. That, is why this is my favorite article.
