Feedback on Interview with the Mother of an Autistic Child MAG
I am grateful to Allison S. for her interview with a parent of an autistic child. Due to the rapid explosion of children diagnosed with autism, many teens are taught about it but not how it affects families.
As the older and only sibling of an autistic youth, I understand the endless patience required and the value of every minuscule accomplishment. We siblings are indeed affected the most: we grow up faster, worry constantly, and make sacrifices never considered by our peers. However, we also have the joy of being with these very special children, and my experience has taught me lots of irreplaceable lessons. Thank you for this insightful and unexpected article.
