As a little girl, I showed up to my first ballet class in a pink leotard, excited to do my princess kicks and kangaroo hops across the floor. Little did I know, dancing would lead to a life-long hobby, just like it did for Molly Gard, the author of “To Be Like Katie.” I thought my childhood of following around daycare buddies was unique, but Molly opened my eyes. She was honest and open in telling everyone her childhood story, which is sometimes hard to do. As she said, I'm glad I wandered into the studio for the first time not knowing what to expect.
