Picky, Picky, Picky
In the article “Picky, Picky, Picky” by Megan Bounds in issue September 11th a picky eater has to try a termite in Costa Rica. After eating the termite, she realizes that it wasn’t just new foods that she was afraid to try, but also new things. Now she is more open to trying new things along with new foods.
I was surprised that the author had eaten a termite and the fact that her teacher had her try it. Like the author, I am a very picky eater. If I don’t like the smell of the food, it will not go into my mouth. As I became older my parents and friends had me try foods that I believed I wouldn’t like, but by trying them, I found out I did like the food I was forced to try. In the article she talks about trying things is hard for her, too. I hate trying new things or change because I fear that I will not enjoy them or it.
